As Brigida had mastered the magic she could learn in childhood, she grew up to become a very powerful witch, just like her mother. Her power source turned out to be ice, and the new receptionist found her activating it rather interesting. Those that work in the palace should always be open-minded, of course.

It was soon Brigida's birthday again, and Aia put her mind toward plans for a debutante ball, but there was certainly time for that. Brigida grew up to become quite the spitting image of her mother. Though her childhood struggles led to some complications in her pre-teen years, she remained quite optimistic.

Before anyone knew it, Prince Caomhan reached childhood, and his magic training, as his elder sister's, began in earnest. Aia had learned some things about teaching magic through trial and error with Brigida, and was a little more efficient at it the second time around.

The other monarchs, Queen Orla of Henford-on-Bagley, and King Roland of Glimmerbrook, were surprisingly open to her communications and interest in establishing peaceful relations between them. Soon she added King Cedar of Windenburg to the list of her correspondences, who also seemed open to the idea of friendly interaction.

Wisely, Queen Aia began regular correspondence with nobles and other royalty of far off lands. Making allies with other lands and the gentry would prove useful in the future for her kingdom, and perhaps for her descendants, as marriage prospects were certainly not outside the realm of possibility.

While her influence continued to grow and her political relations with other regions remained positive, Queen Aia was well-aware such good luck could not remain forever. She had a suit of armour created for herself in the event she might ever need it, and hoped to someday prove to be a strong ruler in the event her dynasty was ever challenged, as well as a compassionate and wise one.

Winter came to Avonlea Castle, and the castle staff hurried to light the fireplaces. Prince Caomhan shortly after reached his own childhood, and as she did with her daughter, Queen Aia awakened his dormant magic. He turned out a bit more of a rebellious soul than his elder sister, to his mother's chagrin.

Through an unfortunate twist of fate, Courtney was later hit by a falling meteor that struck the castle roof. Queen Aia rushed to the rooftop to plead with the Grim Reaper to leave her cook (and friend, by then) be, and to her great surprise, the Reaper agreed and revived Courtney.
Afterward, Queen Aia cast the Sanctuary spell on Courtney, to prevent her from falling victim to such accidents again in the future.

As Queen Aia's dynasty grew and her tasks became less manageable, she needed to relegate tasks to others; while she had a maid at the start, Malia Pryor, she later hired a Royal Cook, Courtney McKnight. Her sister Candace would later come to work for the palace as well.

As Princess Brigida reached childhood, Queen Aia awakened the dormant magical powers in her eldest, and began her magical training in earnest. While none know what her power source may be just now, it is best to begin training as early as possible, that one's magic will never overwhelm them.

Having saved up a decent amount of money, Queen Aia set about building a proper castle, in which to hold banquets and mingle with local, and international, nobles and royalty. The castle was named Avonlea Castle, in honour of their Welsh roots. While the interiors remained a bit bare for a time, Queen Aia continues to add onto it and create an impressive and comfortable dwelling for her family, servants, and visiting dignitaries alike.

As her kingdom grew in finances and influence, Queen Aia sought a reputable advisor to assist in managing the kingdom's taxes and varying other important tasks. Queen Aia took Mara Silverlight, a spellcaster from Tomaru, under her wing, and Lady Mara turned out to be quite the asset.

Little Princess Brigida was a precocious one, far more troublesome in her toddler years than she was in her infancy. However, she still enjoyed the company and attention of her mother the Queen, who often read her to sleep when she became fussy.

Before anyone knew it, it was time for Princess Brigida's birthday, and so she became a toddler. Time was passing by so quickly. Queen Aia had begun attempting the forging of positive relations with nearby kingdoms, chief among them Henford-on-Bagley, and Glimmerbrook. The last thing anyone needed was the spellcasters taking the witch dynasty as a threat and starting a war.

Soon after, the kids had their first bath. Queen Aia dreads the day when she'll be too busy with royal duties to spend proper time with her children, but these early days are so far quite peaceful.

Princess Brigida has an interest in trying foods, so Queen Aia helped her attempt a few different things. She was the least finicky baby when it came to trying new food.

Not long after Brigida was born, Aia had a son, Prince Caomhan (kee-wan). Though their home is still quite modest, Aia is proud of how far she's come with nothing.
