Back in Canto Grande, we spent the bulk of the day painting at the Christian. Brothers’ sponsored school called “Fe y Alegria 26.” It was a bit less physically demanding the previous two days in Jicamarca. It marks the end of the service portion of our trip. Tonight we have our final reflection with Brother Steve Casey and we are off to Cuzco and the Sacred Valley for three days of touring.

More dancing ( the previous pictures did not post). Nonetheless, it was a celebration hosted at Jose’s house and included family and some of the local neighbors. Though they were tired, most of them got up to dance.

While the view is nice, life is hard. Very few residents have even motorcycles and it’s a mile up the road where we worked. This is desert so there is no water or vegetation. Most houses are still in the early wood stages as seen in this photo. Having said that, the people are happy and hopeful of improving their lives.
