Some individuals with AD/HD, especially without hyperactivity, have an activation problem as described by Thomas Brown, Ph.D. in his article AD/HD without Hyperactivity (1993). Rather than a deficit of attention, this means that individuals can’t deploy attention, direct it, or put it in the right place at the right time. He explains that adults who do not have hyperactivity often have severe difficulty activating enough to start a task and sustaining the energy to complete it. This is especially true for low-interest activities. Often it means that they can’t think of what to do so they might not be able to act at all, or, as Kate Kelly and Peggy Ramundo say in You Mean I’m Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?!, they might experience a “paralysis of will” (pg. 65). “The clothes from my trip—a month ago—are just still lying in a heap in the suitcase.” “I spend a lot of time in bed watching TV but my mind isn’t watching TV. I’m thinking about what I should be doing, but I don’t have the energy to do it.”
- Sari Solden, Women With Attention-Deficit Disorder

some of yall don't understand what human rights mean and it is legitimately worrying how some of you think that if a person is 'bad' enough they should have their human rights taken away

MIYAWAKI METHOD
The Miyawaki Method is a technique developed by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki for creating dense, native forests. It is designed to promote biodiversity, restore ecosystems, and combat climate change through accelerated forest growth. Here are the key principles and characteristics of the Miyawaki Method:
1. High Density Planting: Unlike traditional forestry methods, Miyawaki Method involves planting a large number of tree saplings very close together (typically 3-5 times denser than usual), which encourages vertical growth as trees compete for light.
2. Native Species: It focuses exclusively on planting native plant species that are well-suited to the local climate and soil conditions. This promotes the growth of a diverse and resilient ecosystem that requires minimal maintenance once established.
3. Organic Soil Preparation: Before planting, the soil is carefully prepared to mimic natural forest conditions. This includes enriching the soil with organic matter to support rapid growth and establishment of the saplings.
4. Absence of Chemical Inputs: Miyawaki forests are established without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, relying instead on natural processes and organic materials for soil enrichment and pest control.
5. Quick Growth and Maturity: Due to the high density planting and optimal soil conditions, Miyawaki forests grow much faster than conventional forests. They reach maturity within 10-30 years, compared to the typical 100 years for traditional forests.
6. Environmental Benefits: The method is known for its ability to sequester carbon dioxide at a faster rate than regular forests, making it an effective tool in combating climate change. It also helps in restoring degraded lands and enhancing biodiversity by recreating native habitats.
Overall, the Miyawaki Method is celebrated for its efficiency in creating healthy, biodiverse forests in a short span of time, offering a sustainable solution to environmental degradation and climate change mitigation.
Growing vegetation using the famous Miyawaki Method or “pocket forests” is much faster and effective, especially in urban and suburban areas. The Miyawaki afforestation method uses native species that plant very close to each other to encourage sunlight-seeking apical growth. As a result, the plantation becomes 30 times dense, grows 10 times faster, and requires no maintenance after a span of 3 years. The Miyawaki method was a definitive success in Shadman Park, Karachi, Pakistan.
