A Sunday trip to Crystal Beach in Zambales
After a long deliberation and planning on where we want to spend our first weekend getaway this 2017, we decided to visit Crystal Beach in San Narciso, Zambales. It was suggested by my friend Eldon. He saw this post on facebook about how to go there in a tight budget and how beautiful the place was.
Our call time is 3 AM at Victory Liner Bus Terminal in Cubao. We decided to meet early because the trip will take us around 4 hours to reach the place and we want to enjoy our stay even though it is only a day trip. Unfortunately, the first trip going to Iba,Zambales is 5 AM. Because we don’t want to waste our time, we went to Victory Liner Bus Terminal in Caloocan. You can choose either the route going to Iba or Sta. Cruz,Zambales. We took the first trip going to Sta. Cruz which is 4 AM. There are two bus stop (Pampanga and Olongapo). We told the driver to drop us off in San Narciso (San Sebastian Parish Church). From there we took a tricycle going to Crystal Beach (the fare is Php 80 (for 4 persons) because we had side trip to the market to buy breakfast; normal fare is Php 15 per person).
We arrived in our destination around 8:30 AM. The staffs are very accommodating and friendly. They are willing to answer our questions. Good thing also is that they accept debit/credit cards in case you don’t have cash. The entrance fee is Php 190 per person. We just rented a tiki hut that cost Php 550. If you want to stay overnight, you can rent a cottage or a tent. You can also bring your own tent but you still need to pay.
The place offers a relaxing and peaceful vibe as we enter the area. It is a wide beach front resort. The salty breeze coming from the sea is so refreshing. There are other activities that you can do here like surfing, beach volleyball and even an obstacle course. There is also a bonfire area at night.
We eat first our breakfast before touring the resort. We take pictures (a lot of it by the way)to capture how beautiful it is. We enjoyed sitting and lying in the gray sands. (My friends slept for 2 hours while I enjoyed the view of the sea)
Around 3 PM, when we take our dip in the sea . The waves are not so high that time so we enjoyed it.(We dont know how to swim). But as the time passes by the waves are getting stronger and the sea is becoming deeper. We just noticed that our feet can’t touch the ground. Fortunately, we were able to get out of the water in time. We just laughed out about what happened. I will not forget this trip.
We checked out around 5:30 PM. (Because there are no bus going directly to Cubao that time, we ride a bus going to Olongapo and ride a bus going to Cubao there).
