Chapter 20!

So excited Killing Stalking is back!! And it just dove right back into hell, reminding us all that Sangwoo is living in his own world just as much as Bum.

I had to laugh at his disappointment and then anger at Bums failure to feel whatever it is Sangwoo feels when he kills someone.

It is getting very hard to tell what he is doing on purpose to manipulate Bum vs what he really feels. I think that previously it was obvious when he was manipulating Bum vs when he was reacting honestly to a situation.

The distinction has blurred and with this last chapter I feel it’s up in the air as to what was purposeful manipulation and what was him being genuinely upset, hurt, or confused.

Im confused so what does sangwoo actually want bum to feel??? why was he disappointed?? what does that have anything to do with bums feelings/love toward him ?

Sangwoo was super offended that Bum didn’t I dunno, express sheer joy or kiss his feet to show how thankful he was for Sangwoo to offer the grand opportunity of committing a murder. He was expecting Bum to enjoy the experience but all he got was a ‘i dont feel anything lol’ which in Sangwoo’s point of view, meant he had wasted a lot of time and effort. His ego took a blow and as we’ve seen, he already had a pretty fragile ego to begin with and has no idea how to handle rejections. Sangwoo’s daydream of murder husbands was shot down in that moment until Bum went and said this

Cue Sangwoo getting excited again…I guess? At least that’s how I saw this chapter.

Has Lezhin ever done synchronized releases for any of their other comics? I honestly don’t know, but my guess is that this would be their first attempt at it, right? Shit happens, you know, and if this is their first attempt, it’s not surprising if they overestimated their ability to get things done at a certain speed. I think this is definitely a case of “they need to get their shit together and be certain before letting the creator announce a date,” but, well. It’s normal for shit to not be entirely together the first time someone attempts something, and I think we have to just assume that they and Koogi are all doing their best.

The way it looks, Lezhin and Koogi are really trying to listen to their customers’ feedback and wishes, which is something not enough companies do. I’m really glad that they’re trying, though of course it’s normal to be disappointed in extra delays. I hope this delay means that their goal right now is to prioritize quality, and part of that is making sure the artist and translators all have enough time to get their jobs done well. There were lots of mistakes in Killing Stalking season 1, both in the art and the translations, and hopefully they’re working on minimizing those things for season 2.

My blog hasn’t been incredibly active lately, because obviously there’s much less content to talk about/reblog, and like many of you, a long hiatus tends to burn out my passion for something significantly. So I’m with everyone who’s disappointed and feeling impatient. I’m not saying don’t be disappointed, but there’s nothing we can do but hope Lezhin is doing their best and hope that they get better at this sort of thing as they become more experienced with it. I’m still glad that they’ve listened and are trying.

And in fact you’re free to hope what you want, but if you really think that Killing Stalking should end with Sangwoo dead or in prison and Bum free and happy (maybe with Seungbae) and you’re reading the manhua expecting thing to go this way, let me tell you that you don’t understand what you’re reading and you’ll probably end with a big disappointment.
