So you made this comment on a post that I just recently saw about how since katara beat Azula in the Agni Kai does that technically make her the fire lord? And while it doesn’t because Agni kais are for firebenders only and by fighting katara Azula forfeited. But let’s pretend that is not known in the atla universe so when katara is telling the tale to the gaang sokka just immediately asks “oh so does that mean you’re firelord?” Imagine her disgust, she doesn’t talk to him for another month.

aang bows to her and says “at your service, your flameyness!” every time she enters the room, and zuko keeps saying “may your flame burn eternal O great lord of fire” until she threatens to stop healing them. zuko still calls himself “katara’s understudy” every time someone tries to bribe him into abusing his absolute power. but sokka wisely never brings up the subject after that first time because he knows she would not hesitate to kill him.
