do you guys ever just think about what lavellan and solas are doing in the black city right now.

do you think they found a little corner untouched by the blight to talk things out for a little while? and then lavellan sweetly cleans up solas’s wounds? wipes away the blood from his face so she can see his face all bruised and sad??

then instead of trying to explain himself solas just leans in and rests his head on his vhenan’s shoulder and they just embrace?

because i do. all the time. right now actually…

Ok, discovered more Emmrich lore via some banter with Neve.

After discussing Tevinter vs. Nevarran mage/nobility politicking, she comments how it must be even more intimidating if one were from poorer means and fondly says:

'but at least you did alright for yourself...' :)

and realizing her implication, he goes 'how did you-?' :0

Follow-up banter he's like 'so how did you deduce I came from poorer means?' and she basically lists the following observations about him:

always finishes his plate, always the first to eat

covered in gold, yet saves all his candle stubs

gives away more gold to the beggars than anyone else

always looks them in the eye, no aversion, "Poor is familiar"

Emmrich adds that yes, while he hasn't been poor in a while, she's correct, he was.

I'm sorry but I am sobbing this line of dialogue was so fucking funny. The implication that he only has two outfits, that he fucking frescoed himself in one of them, and that it was so iconically raggedy that Harding knew immediately it was from Inquisition Time asjhflamcnjfkwjajcbkwit

I loved veilguard buttttttt I think that it suffered from one thing: the devs don’t know the lore. I was at a panel and they directly said they referenced the wiki multiple times when making the game… which isn’t great when you’re making a game with an insane amount of lore.That’s meant as the culmination of a long running series. Lore issues have been the root of many peoples problems, and I think that could have been remedied by a better understanding of the foundational lore. You can’t build a house if you don’t know the foundation, after all.

Regardless I still love veilguard because it is an insane masterpiece of art that fucks hard. But I do, like many people, wish it was better and engaged with the past games more concretely.

and for a moment Emmrich regresses to the age he was when it happened, a scared helpless and lost little boy

That, right there, is little Emmrich, being brought right back to the worst moment of his life as a child, just look at that body language the devs chose for him in this moment.
