and I deeply appreciate that after everything, after years of growth, after becoming a person unrecognisable from who he was in s1, Juno still makes mistakes, still is tempted to relapse because of course progress isn't linear and definitive

except that now he corrects his trajectory, he breaks bad habits, he doesn't let himself fall back down, and he finds the strength to do it in the people around him, in Rita confronting him about lashing out at her, in Jet's voice and advice,

it's progress, it's splendid and it's difficult

its all about locking yourself in the room with the bomb baby. believing your entire life has been meant to converge on this moment. in that moment you are the singular hero. one death and the whole world is wiped clean. this deal wont last forever. become a member of the cycle and buy now to die for free. thats right. dying. for. free. no pesky moral quandary attached. terms and conditions apply* **.

there is something about the way that juno says that he would be told who to shoot, and he would simply ask who’s next but in the moment when vespa runs from the bar during that first job, he does not shoot. buddy and jet had given him a gun with no stun option and instructed him to kill, but when he lets her run out unharmed he reflects on that, reflects on how he has played the part of a puppet the past while, has listened and shot and killed when he did not mean or want to, juno does not shoot- he does not shoot vespa, he does not listen to the gun with an option only for killing, and in the end, buddy thanks him. and i think this is so significant for juno, for this new beginning- that when he decides to not shoot and take his own role of this job into his own hands, it ends up being the right decision and buddy thanks him, even if she and jet had handed him the gun.

after all the deaths on his hands over his entire life, the guilt he feels every waking moment, to be thanked for finally not shooting and for finally feeling like he has done something good and has helped- juno did not want to be used. buddy thanked him.

The Penumbra Podcast is winding down, nearing the end. So, before they do that to us, I had to draw Juno and Nureyev being happy little queers they sometimes are XD

Also, I was writing a fanfic and putting them through it, so small sketchy sketch of having them having fun being around eachother. By sketch, I mean I banged this thing out in like an hour and a half or something.
