so I just heard the news that SpongeBob is closing on Broadway... I seriously have never been this sad over a show's closing... I saw SpongeBob for the first time two years ago (July 6th, 2016) at the Oriental Theatre. I was so sketchy about the show because it just sounded like a show for little kids but as soon as I entered that beautiful theatre and was literally transported to Bikini Bottom, I knew this show would be extraordinary. I spent the three hours I was watching the show (it was so long off Broadway) with the BIGGEST smile on my face. literally, nothing could stop me from smiling. and Ethan, oh Ethan. he took me through a complete journey of emotions. Spongebob was my favorite show as a kid, so to watch him literally come to life, was almost life-changing I remember talking to Gavin and Danny and a few others at the stage door just expressing how excited I was for it to go to Broadway because I knew it would. they were all so caring and sweet, and then in January I took a trip to New York because we found cheap anastasia tickets and I didn't have anything else planned for break, we had our Anastasia tickets, our Miss Saigon tickets, and our Come From Away tickets, but we had one more day to see a show and I remembered SpongeBob and so we bought tickets like the day of and being back there made my heart so happy and seeing the cast members eyes light up when I told them that I had seen the show in Chicago gave me such a warm feeling. This show has brought me such immense joy that I cannot even begin to explain. I used to listen to the cast recording every single day. nothing made me happier than the cast and the songs, it was my savior in some of my darkest times, and the fact that such an amazing show with such a diverse cast, and great meaning has to close, just isn’t fair ):
