I haven't been feeling too good lately, been run down and just tired all the time. I was taking naps,,,,I don't take naps. Finally figured out I've been letting my nutrition slip. The way I ride, especially now that it's cooler, and I'm riding longer and faster, I can't skip meals or just eat junk all day. So yesterday I head out to ride and take pictures. I ate correctly before, took a lot of snacks, and 10 hours, 54 miles later I was still feeling great and totally stoked about the pictures I took. I rode through Scottsdale and Tempe and managed to get pictures of 9 different Raptors, along with many other birds. I was told by a friend at work yesterday that she was having a really bad day and was just angry about everything, then at lunch she saw my pictures of the birds and it made things better. This is not the first time I've heard this. I've been using my pictures to communicate and put myself out there, which has always been hard. If my pictures, even as amateur as they are, with a pretty basic camera, can make one person smile, I've succeeded. But now maybe it is time for the next step, I've been told by my kids I need to write more about my journey, my sister in law @ammilliron texted me recently and said the same thing. My mind, with the Aspergers and ADHD, is all over the place, the train jumps the track on regular 5 second intervals, so my writing would definitely do the same. But I've been told what may sound stupid to me may be what someone else needs to hear. Time for me to soar, oh and does anyone know what this raptor is, I was taking pictures of a #redtailedhawk, but this looks different, and then I had a picture of a great blue heron, had no idea where he came from. And I digress and lost the train a mile back. The final diagnosis is in and as always with knowledge comes relief. But now having the diagnosis of aspergers I have avenues of support, and can learn ways to open my world. It also comes with responsibility, I am not broken, I just face different challenges, and the tools I have learned just since I started cycling can possibly help someone else in my situation.
