summary: Y/N joins as the new 9th member of Stray kids, feeling both nervous and excited. The members warmly welcome the reader and make her feel at home.

Y/N always dreamed of becoming a k-pop idol and doing the things she loves the most - singing and dancing. But she wouldn't havr ever expected to join the group Stray kids as their 9th member, but when jyp gave her this opportunity, she couldn't say no. All of this was a dream come true, but there was one thing that made her worried. Will she fit in? Will they like her? Even though she was a trainee in JYP for a few years, she never met them personally. They probably have never heard of her.

A few days later, after she agreed to join, she had to go meet them and have her first practice. Naturally, she wanted to make a good first impression so Y/N took extra time to get ready.

Y/N stood outside the familiar JYP Entertainment building, her heart pounding in her chest. She took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions swirling inside her. Both excitement and anxiety buzzed through her veins as a nervous knot tightened in her stomach. She needed to be perfect.

As she stepped into the practice room, the sound of laughter and chatter greeted her. The members were gathered around, talking loudly, but the moment they noticed her presence, the room fell silent. Y/N felt the weight of their gazes on her, and for a split second, her nerves threatened to overwhelm her. She didn't know what to say or where to go, so she just started looking around, hoping to find a solution to this awkward situation. Suddenly, a voice spoke up. Bang Chan stepped toward her with a warm smile, hoping to make her more relaxed. "Y/N, you're here! Welcome! " he said, extending a hand. Y/N stiffly shook his hand, mumbling something quietly. The rest of the members quickly followed, each one offering their own greetings. They seemed so nice and welcoming, but something inside of her made her feel anxious. Every time one of them spoke to her, she felt a wave of self-doubt wash over her. "What if I don’t fit in? What if I’m not good enough?" Y/N thought. All of them were already very close with each other which made her feel like this was not her place.

Felix, noticing her unease, leaned in with a reassuring grin. “Don’t worry, Y/N. We’re all a bit nervous at first, but you’ll get used to it. You'll do great." His words were comforting, but Y/N still felt like she didn't belong. She nodded, forcing a smile, but inside, the nerves continued to twist and churn.

The practice began, and while the members moved with confidence and familiarity, Y/N struggled to find her rhythm. Every mistake she made felt magnified, every stumble another reason to doubt herself. Even though the members were supportive, offering gentle corrections and encouraging words, Y/N couldn’t help but feel the pressure mounting. Maybe this was not for her. The overwhelming feelings were too much to handle.

As the practice session drew to a close, Y/N felt more exhausted mentally than physically. She plastered a smile on her face as the members wrapped up and gathered their things. She needed rest and time to think and collect herself.

"Y/N, you did great for your first day,” Hyunjin said, clapping her on the shoulder. “It’s a lot to take in, but don’t be too hard on yourself.”

“Yeah, you’re part of the family now,” Felix added with a soft smile. “We’ve got your back.”

Y/N nodded, their words meaning more to her than they probably realized. She felt better now, but this didn't completely help her. The members then suggested going out for dinner together so they can welcome you properly.

As the night went one, Y/N listened to their jokes and tried to join in their conversations, even if the anxiety lingered at the edges of her mind, casting a shadow over the excitement she desperately wanted to embrace.

Sensing her discomfort, Chan asked with a soft tone. “You okay, Y/N? You’ve been really quiet.”

Y/N nodded quickly, forcing a smile. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just… still getting used to everything.”

“ It’s a lot to take in, but you’ll get the hang of it.” Hyunjin added, offering her a piece of grilled meat with his chopsticks. “Just tell us when something is bothering you. We're here for you.”

The sincerity in their voices really dud ease some of her tension. As the dinner went on, the members continued to include her in their conversations, their warmth and kindness chipping away at her fears. It wasn’t easy, but with every passing moment, Y/N began to feel a little more like she belonged.

By the end of the night, she found herself laughing at Changbin’s jokes and even chiming in on a conversation about their favorite music. The anxiety was still there, but it wasn’t as overwhelming as before. Maybe, just maybe, she could find her place in this group after all.

side note: i hope that the person who requested it likes it. It's not that good, but i haven't written oneshots in a long time and it was kinda hard for me. Tysm for support from everyone.

Lee Know who's love language is quality time. As a kpop idol he has a lot of work and responsibilities, but will always try to spend time with you. Even little quiet dates or walks where you talk about everything. It's something that he deeply cherishes.

Changbin who's love language is physical touch. You always have an arm wrapped around like all the time. He's very touchy and loves to hold and kiss you. Even when you don't expect it he will hug from behind to suprise you.

Hyunjin who's love language is words of affirmation. He will compliment you all the time letting you know how much he loves you. He will make sure you never forget how amazing you are.

Han who's love language is gift giving. We all know that he's really anxious so there's no better way to show you his appreciation other than gifts. He loves giving you small gifts or flowers every once a while.

Felix who's love language is physical touch. Just like Changbin he's very touchy in general. He's obsessed with hugging and cuddle you all the time even in front of other people like his members.

Seungmin who's love language is quality time. For him it’s important to enjoy every moment with you and just be with you. He will often take you on dates whenever he's not busy.

Jeongin who's love language is words of affirmation. He loves seeing you smile everytime he talks about you. It's really important for him that you feel loved and comfort with him so he will tell sweet things (in private ofc so he doesn't get teased)
