And if this is what we’ve got, then what we’ve got is gold
We’re shining bright and I want you, I want you to know
The morning’s on it’s way
Our friends all say goodbye
There’s nowhere else to go I hope that you’ll stay the night

@villain-crown idk if you were being rhetorical or not but I have (i think) a controversial opinion that's related:
Because of the distance between them, both physical and emotional, Sirius and Regulus likely hated each other at the time of Regulus' death. but hate and love are not mutually exclusive, and there is often hate because of the love. If Sirius had found out about Regulus' death at the time I doubt that his reaction would have been immediate explosive grief but rather a delayed, gradual reaction, leading into a depression, as Sirius seems predispositioned to, processing that the childhood best friend had still been there, that reconciliation was possible, but that he had missed the opportunity to reconnect and he was never going to get another one.
I feel like a lot of marauders fans fail to appreciate the regulus-Sirius relationship bc there is so much grief involved in losing a sibling but not at all the way that it’s often portrayed
in their case the grief doesn’t come from losing someone close or loved, but from losing someone you were once close to, who you considered your best friend, but drifted apart and failed to reconnect with, having the chance of reconciliation taken away and feeling so distant and so close to them at the same time, wondering if you could have made it work if you had tried harder or had more time but never having an answer, discovering that the person who died is not the same person you lost, that they grew and changed without you, and that you no longer know them but a shadow of their younger self

Wait… if muggle tech doesn’t work at hogwarts, why could Colin Creevey use his camera? The camera itself wasn’t enchanted, he put the film in a magic developing solution to make the pictures move.
Where’s the threshold on what tech does and doesn’t work?

by this logic - that hogwarts cannot/will not be updated to accomodate that many students - the UK and Ireland should have multiple magic schools..
which brings me back to my original point:
anyone complaining that there aren't enough magic schools to accomodate the student populace in countries such as the US is blatantly ignoring how illogical the entire premise of Hogwarts is so they can measure dicks/country size.
"America only having one magic school is so stupid there's too many kids!!" people do realise that Hogwarts is also too small to cater to the 2 countries' worth of kids right?
like u are correct, but also like
8 dormitories per year? perfectly balanced male:female ratios? only 5 beds per dormitories?
this adds up to only 40 students per year. 280 students max in the school at one time.
there's currently 9.1 million students in the uk... i think this is less of a culture/country issue and more of a maths issue?

i love the design choice of his eyes
they could've made his eyes look normal and have his blindness be a completely hidden disability, or they could have gone the traditional route of giving him cataracts/cloudy eyes.
but instead they removed his pupils. which is a cool visual (esp since he's got incredibly pale blue eyes so its more obvious) but also explains what the root of the problem is - the pupils let light into the eye, and the iris is the muscle that adjusts to the light level. either he is missing his pupils entirely, or his irises are contracted to prevent any light from going in.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: it's more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It's performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to simousltansly critique and consume media. You need to use discernment.

i get that they're wizards and all but y did the original order of the phoenix decide that their best and fastest mode of communications would be through patronuses, which are a highly advanced magic that's not even taught at Hogwarts??? which they altered to be able to carry messages, making them even more advanced??
ok maybe moody was an auror and james and sirius were incredibly intelligent but seriously? the marauders were barely out of school (probably still in school??) when they joined up??
wouldn't an easier form of communication, that didn't require incredibly advanced magic, that a group of pureblood wizards that despise technology wouldn't even know of/understand be a little easier??
like say a fucking phone?
lily is a muggleborn and remus is a halfblood and the prewett brothers already had arthur weasley as a brother in law (and several nephews), did none of them think that a landline in each safehouse might just be easier? or teaching the order members how to use a payphone?
this isn't even a timeline issue, they existed! payphones have been around since the 1880s and landlines got popular in the 60s, so the marauders (lily and remus) would have grown up around them!
also now harry and hermione have a chance to update it in the late 90s to mobile phones (nokias). or at least at some point after 1994, which is before OotP anyway.

you cannot accurately/faithfully predict when the full moon is in the HP universe
i see a lot of people talking about how Remus' actions make more sense if you calculate when the full moon is - but canonically the full moon doesn't respond to the real world logic of the moon cycle
in POA the full moon occurs on only 2 known dates - 6th June and 24th December.
Remus is out for the count on the 25th, which is implied to be because of a full moon the previous night (possibly even earlier in the week as he seems to take several days off after a full moon).
and the 6th June is the date in which Scabbers is revealed as Peter in the shrieking shack. which also proves that Remus is only ill after the full moon, not before.
the problem is, theres only 6-ish months between the two, and the irl moon cycle doesn't line up
the full moon only generally shifts by a day or two each month (eg. June 6th, July 7th, Aug 8th, Sep 9th etc etc etc) so there's not enough time between December 24th (or even if it was earlier and around the 20th?) for the full moon to shift to the 6th even when factoring in the weridly short month of February.
on top of all of this, the days of the week don't line up either
Harry's 11th birthday in PS is on Tuesday 31st July, the irl date is Wednesday 31st July - a small fuck up but a fuck up none the less and one that changes the dates for everything
if you adjust the dates of the HP universe to fit to Harry's 11th birthday it still doesn't match up as in POA Buckbeak's trial is set to Friday 20th April but Harry's birthday dictates that it should be a Tuesday 20th April, and the irl 1994 calendar dictates that it should be Wednesday 20th April.
basically - nothing matches and you cannot have a "revelation" like the whole "Remus is tired on so-and-so dates because of the full moon!" because canonically you cannot predict it unless you abandon the calendars and build your own.
