Note
So when they say "World Tour", do they mean Asia? And the cast is not from all over the world, but Australia? I'm a little confused.
It depends on how you interpret it. The World Tour has also frequently been called the Asia Pacific Tour and the Australasian Tour, which tells that its main area is Asia and Australia. But: the World Tour got its name when the first South African production opened back in 2004. They traveled from South Africa to China, and continued to South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, back to South Africa and South Korea, The Philippines, Thailand etc. Future stops includes Turkey. So though they don’t tour the US (which has always had its own tours) and Europe (where there’s several sit-down productions), the tour has covered three continents and as such I think the “World Tour” label is deserved. As for the cast, it’s a lot more nationalities than Australian! Depending on the season, they’ve had Swedes (Anders Sohlman), Americans (Brad Little, Tina Walsh, Kristi Holden, Emilie Lynn), Hawaiian (Ian Jon Bourg), South Africans (Thabiso Masemene, Jason Ralph, Anthony Downing), South Koreans (Jee-hyun Noh), Brits (Cat Lane, Eleanor Waite, Rachel Horn), Kiwis (Andrea Creighton), Australians (Claire Lyon, Nadia Komazec), Philippines (Dondi Ong) and Dutch (Ernst van Looy) - and this is just from the top of my head. I’m sure that if I studied the current cast list closer, I’d find more. In my opinion, this is a true World Tour cast, representing most continents. Just look at the list of principals: Phantom: Brad Little (US) Christine: Claire Lyon (Australia) Christine alt: Kristi Holden (US) Raoul: Anthony Downing (South Africa) Carlotta: Andrea Creighton (New Zealand) Firmin: Ernst van Looy (The Netherlands) André: Jason Ralph (South Africa) Madame Giry: Tina Walsh (US) Meg Giry: Eleanor Waite (UK)

Method to the Madness: Interview with Wardrobe Head Eugene Titus
In a musical based on grand operas, lavish masquerades, glamorous divas and wealthy patrons, costumes are crucial in transporting audiences to a period of excess and relentless beauty. For The Phantom of the Opera, designer Maria Bjornson created a meticulously researched blueprint that incorporated antique with contemporary materials—all of which demands a great deal of expense, care and continuity. This is where wardrobe managers come in.
