Cabana Capers

So my mom and I were headed out to run some errands.

I decided to put on my safari hat (a huge straw one with palm trees on it) just to screw around with my parents.

My mom takes one look at me and says, “No. No way. We’re not going to the fucking cabana.”

I’ve had swimmer’s ear for a little while now and, as a result, I’ve been really afraid of getting water in my ears.

So, that means I haven’t showered for a couple days in 100 something degree weather. I’m smelling pretty funky.

Upon explaining the fear of water in my ears to my parents, my dad says, “Y’know what, I don’t see the problem here! Find a solution.”

I retort, “I don’t see the problem either!” Because arguing with dads is apparently every teenager’s superpower.

My mom, who was trying to get me to wear my new Walgreens silicone earplugs in the shower, more or less just sighs and gives up. But not my dad. My dad turns to me, face absolutely serious, and almost shouts, “The problem is that YOU STINK”

....guess that means I need to take a shower
