Those of you in your fifties or older will probably remember images like this one of your car covered in dead insects every time you went out for a long drive in the summer. I used to curse theses ‘pests’ when as a teenager they would ruin the look of my freshly cleaned Triumph Spitfire (we are talking about a long time ago and it was the coolest car in my village). You don’t see this so much anymore and it is an alarming sign of the decline of insect numbers in the UK, which makes life difficult for Bats and other insect eaters. Knowing what I know now, I would love to have filthy bumpers and windscreens after every journey. If you order plants from us you may find the occasional greenfly and other insects - we are proud of this because we do not use any pesticides on our plants or gardens.
