In case you didn’t realize the wording there, it says “Fiction isn’t reality.” Representation in fiction is important. But you know whats also important, allowing people to talk and share experiences in ways that don’t hurt people. And shipping two fictional brothers, or an abusive ship, or a ship with an age gap is exactly that for so many. The Strider’s aren’t real people. But their story, and their relationships and their dynamics resonate with real people. That's why this blog exists. To allow and encourage people to ship things, and read, and just have fun. 

Fiction affects reality on some levels, but it doesn’t the way Anti Shippers think it does. Just because you read hentai doesn’t mean you’re suddenly only gonna be attracted to an eldritch horror. If you read a murder mystery novel you’re not suddenly a cop. If you ship an abusive relationship, you’re not suddenly a part of one. If you read a comic that features an age gap, that doesn’t make you a pedophile. 

Those things I listed are within reality, pedophilia, age gaps, abuse, yes. All of those things are real. But unless a living breathing person is being hurt by another living breathing person, you shouldn’t care what people do. 

“But you hurt me by making content for it!!!” And? You have to look for it. That's the thing, tags exist for this reason. Fiction exists to explore dynamics, ideas, and topics that are uncomfortable in real life. Get used to it. It’s been that way since books were invented.

I’m so tired of fandom wank and the fact that at the drop of a hat a massive block list can be made accusing people of federal offenses without any proof. My name has a star by it and I want to know where I’ve put up anything related to underage characters that's nsfw. Especially on this sfw blog. I have 1 fic here. I liked a boy 18 months younger than me and ended up telling him no just this past year bc I was 18 and he was 17. Don’t cry wolf kids, else you won’t be believed. That’s all this purity politics is delegitimizing victims who use fandoms and fiction to escape abuse or come to terms with what happened to them. And every anti I’ve ever seen uses the same argument people in the 90s used for video games when a shooting happened. 

Don’t say you’re for survivors and victims when you released a huge blocklist and accuse survivors and victims of being pedophiles with no proof.

the block list is p disgusting. Like thats a list full of good people who are upset and hurt by that. Many of which are surviors. Fandom isn’t a safe space by far, but you are in control of the media you consume and the fact people willingly went looking through all those blogs, became upset, then made a huge list to make people feel like garbage, shippers aren’t the problem. This repeated call out culture is a problem.

According to Anti’s yes. They regularly attack users for existing. I know quite a few people on that list and they’ve not done any harm. But they’re constantly getting anon hate or being vagued, or just being massively disrespected for staying in their lane as much as they can while being on a public platform. They have their blogs flagged and tagged, they’re mindful and good people. Just like i’m sure you are, and they’re on that list just because they posted a picture of dirk and dave holding hands in the past year, some have stars for the reason that Dave was aged up (like one of my blogs has one and it’s got 1 fic on it, where dave is 20). Like that's just what they do. I’m sorry your blogs on there. Turn off anon for a few days, keep the positivity going.

Thanksgiving for the striders was filled with Chinese take out after bro burnt the turkey. They are, drank, and laughed into the night eventually passing out on the futon to some hallmark Christmas classic.

They woke up black Friday and lazily smooched each other's hangovers away to go online and get a jump on Christmas over thanksgiving left overs and Gatorade.
