Batik artist draw "semen" motif. Inland Batik (Batik Kraton) is the oldest form of Batik tradition known in Java, using earth color such as black, indigo, brown and sogan. Inland Batik has root in Solo and Yogyakarta from hundred years ago. Usually worn on ceremony and special occasions, now Inland Batik seeks some way of preservation, to make it through daily occasions, so that it can prevail. Semen motif is a motif that can be worn by commoners on daily basis, no sacred meaning or occasions. The artist draw "Semen Garuda" motif, for someone who seeks elegance and dignity when they wear it. #Batik #Inland #heritage #Yogyakarta #Indonesia #culture #travel (at Hamzah Batik)

The city of hundred beaches. This is one of many reasons to stay longer in Yogyakarta and one of many reason to drive through South route of Java: beautiful beaches. Actually, when I was little, Yogyakarta beaches was not popular. They just have 2 beaches: Wonosari and Parangtritis. But in the late 2010, when locals have initiative to make the beaten path beaches accessible, and now, the beaches attract visitors more than the temple or the culture. Glad to know it made Yogyakarta tourism survive. Glagah beach is located on Wates, the south part of Yogyakarta. The route is scenic, through small roads in the middle of rice field. You will meet locals who are eager to help you enjoying your visit. The beach has unique form, and the shore is covered by grass. Yes. Grass. So it's really easy to lay back and have a nap here. #Wates #Yogyakarta #beach #sunset #sky #Indonesia #travel #beatenpath #ocean #Glagah (at Pantai Glagah, Temon, Wates, Jogjakarta)
