Levi crossed his arms, leaning against the wall.  He felt a little smug that threats of cleaning and roaches were enough to make a new recruit bow to his will, but there was work still to be done.  Whoever had vandalized that showers needed to be caught and dealt their punishment.
"That would also depend on whether or not you find the little shits who did this too."

Levi’s countenance darkened at her nonchalance toward the state of the showers.  Giving her a once over, he said “You’re not done.  And it’s not all mine.  Get dressed.  Fetch the detergent.  You’re helping me clean and track down the morons.  Unless you’d prefer cleaning up the dead roaches in Storeroom B.”

The shorter man continued to stare straight into Nadia's eyes pointedly.  He turned around, intending to get the aforementioned cleaning supplies himself.  "Hmph.  To the roaches you go.  And clean all the toilets on the third and fourth floors - yes, including the ones that don't flush - for your insubordination."

Levi sat outside the barracks, polishing the swords of his 3D gear for the fourth time that day.

Realizing that perhaps he had been looking in her direction for too long, and not wanting to give her the wrong idea, Levi turned his face toward the wall.  “I should be asking you both of those questions.”  Placing his hand on the doorknob, he spat out in irritation, “Get dressed and get out.” The door clicked shut behind him.

Through the haze of the steam blanketing the far end of the showers, Levi was able to make out the form of a girl, towel draped over her figure yet barely containing the lines of her body.  He began to smell iron, and sniffled back the blood, recognizing the girl as Nadia.  He didn’t think that the girl would be the perpetrator behind the immature writings.  Then again, he didn’t think that she was oblivious to her surroundings.  His eyebrow twitched. “The wall.  Are you blind.”  He nodded towards the scribbling, expectation apparent on his face.

Lance Corporal Levi stood in the doorway to the showers, beady eyes narrowed, disbelief hidden in his scowl. The shower walls had been vandalized with assorted accusations, like “Eren is sooper gay for Corporal Levi,” “Jean has a bone(r) in his pocket,” “I wipe boogers on the backs of people,” and “I luv titans <3 <3 <3.”  He had no idea who would write such things, since the new recruits were well aware of the consequences of making a huge mess of things, though he was a bit suspicious that Hanji had written the last bit.

Levi chuckled to himself morosely.  Seeing countless men and women die, due to titans and humans themselves, made it difficult not to frown.  Perhaps one day, once the last titan was slain, once humans stopped fighting one another, he would be able to smile more.
Nadia was surprised to see the corners of his lips tugging up. She never thought she would actually do it though.  She tilted her head and smiled at him. She was also mildly surprised that he was touching her. “Is everything okay Heichou?” she questioned curiously.

"Your post.  Down the hall."  With that, Levi turned around on his heel, making his way back to his room, deep in thought about what the young soldier had said.
Unfortunately for Nadia, she didn’t see that she had just completed one of her goals. So the woman just laughed at his words. “I’m not flattering you, i’m telling you the truth. I can see it in their eyes.” She told, “They might not be able to say it, but their eyes say it all. They may be frightened a bit of you, but they truly admire just about all that you do Heichou.”

This time, Levi turned around to face the girl, small smile tugging at his lips.  He didn't really know what to say to that, so he placed his hand on the taller girls' shoulder.  He regarded her for a moment.
Nadia shook her head as she followed him, her fingers were laced behind her back as she walked. “Well his scary face has nothing on yours.” she joked. “Also i think a lot of them want to impress you….no that’s not the right word.” she pursed her lips as she thought of how to explain it. “They want to be just as great as you are and they are…..worried that you won’t be okay with them. i guess. That’s just my hypothesis though.” she told with a shrug.

Levi grunted, "No, and no."  He eyed the woman on his desk, expectantly, although he knew that it would usually take more on his part to remove her from her spot and usher her out of the door.  He pinched his nose in annoyance.  "You need to leave.  I've got a long day tomorrow."
Pulling the shirt over his head, Levi said, “Eren is to have some one on one training with me.  His hand-to-hand combat skills are lacking.”  He regarded the taller female, who now stood at his side.  “You should ask Eren about his plans instead of me,” he continued as he picked up his pajama pants.

A genuine smile broke out on Levi's face, but he continued to face forward, making sure Nadia would not catch sight of his expression.  No wonder she was quite popular amongst the newer officers, she was a diplomat through and through.  Perhaps he had earned the title "Humanity's greatest" and accompanying respect due to his titan kill count, but Nadia was just as valuable, always knowing what to say to lift others' spirits. "You don't need to flatter me, soldier.  I'm sure that they actually wish that I am the scariest thing that they'll have to deal with."  He sighed.
Nadia laughed a bit at his words and before nodding and following after him. “They only say that because you have that scary look on you face all the time.” she pointed out.

Levi walked down the hall, boots clicking quietly on the stoney ground.  He mused over Nadia's comment, his face looked normal to himself.  "I'm surprised.  After five years and Keith Shadis' hasn't desensitized them to commanders with scary faces?"
The corporal set the document on his wooden desk and stood up. He strode up to Nadia, unwavering gaze upon her face.
"Perhaps humanity will move on, but not the men and women who have fought with you.  Place some more value upon your life."  With that, he walked out of the office into the stone halls.

"Put that down."  Levi glared pointedly at Hanji as he pulled his pants on.  He ignored her off-hand comment about how Eren was like a puppy, completely disinterested in others' opinions of the relationship between himself and the younger officer.  In disdain, he snatched the paper out of sitting woman's hand.

Levi smirked at her.  "I wouldn't say that.  I am sure your peers find you to be nicer than me."  He stopped outside the door.  "Why don't we walk to your post?"

Hanji slammed open the door to Levi’s room, as usual. “Hey Levi! What are Eren’s plans for tomorrow?” she asked getting straight to the point. She was wanting to conduct some experiments and to do that she needed Eren.
