The real reason u can't date anyone in genshin impact is because mihoyo knows that we're all simps. All of us. I don't care if u say u have a favorite. Look me in the eye and tell me that u won't simp over the next gorgeous face that shows up in game.

Like 90% of us can't be faithful because we see one (1) gorgeous boy and our minds automatically melt.

This is not just some plain-old rivalry.

Izuku has rivalries, he has friends.

But Bakugou Katsuki is not just a rival, not just a friend, and not just a bully. Certainly, not just some childhood friend.

He is Izuku’s inspiration, the person closest to him who was put on a pedestal next to fucking All Might, Who was basically considered a god in the MHA universe before his retirement.

It’s not funny to say that Izuku’s admiration for Katsuki is just ‘Hero Worship’.

Because if Izuku ‘worships’ All Might, you should damn well Fear what he will do for someone closer than All Might, for Katsuki.

All Might asked Izuku to step into his shoes in the next Symbol- hewas ready to break his bones in the tournament to win

All Might said he always saves the people within his reach - Izuku nearly killed himself to secure Kouta and save Kacchan

All Might knows Izuku’s spirit and desperation is a fearsome thing. And Katsuki is threatened by it.

How he cried like his damn soul was ripped out of his body after Kacchan was taken away.

Tell me one more time that Izuku hates Katsuki, and I’ll show you a devotion beyond words.

Now…Imagine what Izuku would do if Katsuki asked something from him.

But you know what? Katsuki is never going to do that because he is the one person who is intimately aware of everything Izuku can sacrifice in the name of devotion.

And I for one, am really thankful that Katsuki will never dare ask anything of him.

You can call it his Pride. I’ll call it his Fear.

Because the one thing Katsuki fears above everything else is ‘Izuku’s Spirit’

AU where villain Deku gets with Katsuki in order to get close to him and get revenge for the way he used to treat him but then once they’re dating Izuku notices all these tiny things that have changed about Katsuki; he’s a lot quieter around him, he’s subdued and never yells at him and all his touches are almost unbearably gentle, he does everything for him. But the thing that affects him the most is the fact that Katsuki keeps apologizing, he cries and says he’s sorry and holds Izuku tightly when he thinks Deku is sleeping and just cries and keeps telling him he didn’t mean it, he’s so fucking sorry. And Izuku can’t stand it, it’s breaking his fucking heart. Any time Katsuki cries all he wants is to make it stop. He realizes that he’s fallen for him too late.

Fast forward to when Katsuki finds out about Izuku’s intentions and his plan. Izuku just walks into the room and sees Katsuki sitting on the bed, holding one of Izuku’s notebooks, and while there are tears in his eyes and his body is shaking he doesn’t seem to be upset with Izuku, he’s not mad, and that’s what breaks Izuku the most cause Katsuki just looks like he gets it, he understands, he thinks that he deserves it. And Izuku doesn’t know how to make it better.

And then I woke up.

get this: midoriya, but with an extremely popular “pro hero analysis” blog. midoriya who moved with inko to unnamed father’s workplace in america, and without the insane restrictions that japan holds for folks quirkless he’s able to read, analyze, and learn about quirks and pro heroes without having to be in the field.

and while america’s pro heroes are notorious attention hoarders and constantly fight over themselves for “biggest, baddest, sparkliest” prizes and then you have the japanese heroes who “debut” without licenses. and midoriya is always the first to know. midoriya loves heroes, and he remembers the kids he used to know, back when he lived there, among them.

he learns about todoroki and iida during the stain incident. although there’s no official footage of the incident due to the dark alleyway, the fact that it was added to endeavor’s belt gave it national news coverage. so he learned about todoroki and iida through their family, and he was able to give each a quick paragraph about who they are, what their quirks are, and who their family is. at the time, the only thing anyone knew.

there was no official footage of yuuei’s acceptances, either. there’s no releases of their students until official debuts with their approved apprentice licenses. so the only thing midoriya has about yuuei is unofficial debuts and national incidents.

and you know what?

every single one of them that mentions bakugou’s name is some sort of tragedy.

so midoriya switches the narrative to facts. every time. he makes headlines, rewrites every subjective line he can think of, and talks about every obscure angle he can see. he doesn’t talk about the national news that covered bakugou’s kidnapping at the yuuei camp. he talks about the villains they mentioned. he tells about bakugou’s state. he talks about how likely it is for him to be alive for recently debuted supervillains. (not a lot, but he tried to ignore bakugou’s specific statistics. he cried a lot that night.)

when bakugou comes back and all might’s ‘defeat’ is globally broadcasted, he posts the video and leaves his blog inactive for forty-eight hours.

it’s about then, when he’s inactive, that bakugou finds it.

can you really blame him? he can’t sleep. he can’t stop shaking, but he won’t let anyone see. kirishima tries every straw he can think of grasping and bakugou shoves every attempt out of his line of sight. kirishima leaves to his bare-boned dorm room. bakugou stays in his, shaking.

so he’s shaking, and god knows he can’t sleep, so he reads. he tries to ignore the insurmountable amount of headlines about himself, and the god awful accident he just escaped from and blames himself entirely for. he goes on every social media site he can find, makes fake little accounts with fake names that are all about all might and the color orange and he ignores every bit of himself that can’t be covered up by something plain, average, and generic.

he happens to find midoriya’s blog. something called The Happening of Pros, Heroes, and Dailies. he describes a bit about himself, but avoids anything specific, too. it says something simple: allmightfan715, call me amf | he/his, 16 | please send me asks about all might :] plus ultra!

and he reads everything. he ignores his name because he’s sick of it, but he reads everything. every incident, the total breakdown of every debut of every hero he’s covered (both american and japanese,) the small amounts of callbacks that bakugou’s classmates have to all might, best jeanist, miruko. he’s got the bi-yearly recap of every top one hundred heroes (tagged appropriately by year, location, and the top three.)

he doesn’t notice it’s morning when the dawn comes. he’s exempt from classes for recovery purposes. he’ll be brought home in the morning, but he can’t imagine seeing his mother’s face. so he sits in his bed and considers exploding the entire school, including himself, and everybody in it who saw him frightened. but he doesn’t.

he sends the blog, with the most obnoxious, generic nickname he could think of, an ask. it’s simple. it’s clean. he’s not even following it yet. allmightfan666this-is-my-username-not-yours: why do you give so much of a shit about bakugou katsuki anyways he’s not even a hero

and allmightfan715 replies, a good, forty-eight hours later: bakugou katsuki’s my best friend. he probably doesn’t remember me anymore, but he’s my best friend and my favorite hero. i don’t know what he is to you, and why you’d send such a mean ask about a student (a student my age no less.) but i’m gonna block you if you send another ask like this again. he’s my best friend.

bakugou doesn’t really know what to make of that.
