Making of "Asteroid"
Our crew is working on the independent full-length movie “Asteroid-77F”. It’s a low-budget sci-fi story in the retrofuturism style: old technologies, black & white image, 4:3 aspect ratio etc. At the moment we're in a post-production period and the first editing draft with a rough sound and color correction is almost done.
Through this film we’d like to return to the social tradition of sci-fi genre that raises the sensitive issues of an epoch. Yes, our plot is set in space and heroes acts on the space miner station. But their everyday life is the same as ours – we’re talking about usual people in unusual atmosphere. At the same time sci-fi aestetics allows to widely use the metaphors. Finally, because of retrofuturism there can be apply a low-budget production practices.
Hope the film will be something interesting and that our experiments will be helpful to others independent movie makers.
