I know we killed people. I know the two demigod camps did bad things in the name of Olympus. And I know what pain and loss feels like: you think I wasn't friends with Beckendorf, with Silena, with Ethan, while he was at camp, with Michael Yew and Lee Fletcher? You think I don't wake up in the middle of the night and remember what the two wars were like?

What I don't know is what it feels like to lose everything. Some of my friends might, but I don't. Bro, I'm sorry that it had to be like this. But no one says that you can't rebuild from the ashes of a fire. No one says that once you pick yourself up from the cinders, you need to keep burning and burning. We can help you, if you'll let us. Cabin Nine can help you.

The gods are arrogant. They're haughty, they're cruel, their version of justice is all sorts of upside-down. We're not going to claim the moral high ground here for fighting for them. But Annabeth's right. Blood covers your hands just like they cover ours. Don't pretend you're much better than we are.
