What Does It Mean?

"Hey Mario? Imma ask you a question and you better answer." Bowser growled as his nemesis entered his throne room, "'Tesoro mio' What does it mean?"

Mario, not expecting the question, stumbled and barely caught himself, just stared at the large koopa.

"I'm not going to ask again."

Mario stuttered the translation but he couldn't believe it, someone calling Bowser of all people that! "Who called y-"

"Doesn't matter to you who I heard it from, just take the princess and leave I have something important to do.", Bowser pulled a rope that was hanging next to his throne and down came the caged toadstool princess. With a quick slash from his paw the cage broke and Peach was free. and with that the big koopa walked out of a side door and didn't look back.

"Princess are you alright?" Mario held out his hand and helped Peach to her feet. "Do you know what that was about?"

"Oh Mario, I don't think we need to worry about Bowser anymore."Peach smiled, leaning her head into her hand, she stared at the door Bowser had just left through. With a small sigh she turned to Mario and said, "Let's go home, I do believe we have a party to plan."

Mario nodded and followed Peach out of the castle but his mind was still on Bowser's question...who would call the koopa something so endearing?

After Bowser left his throne room, he thought of where he could start to look for the man that has been in his thoughts for the past few months. He decided to start with the gardens in the back of the castle. Sure enough there he was watering some flowers and humming to himself. Having not been noticed yet Bowser crept as best he could behind the young man and-

"ROOOAAAAR!"

"AHHHHHHHH!"

Luigi quickly turned around and tripped over the hose, causing it to go out of control and spray, not only himself but the giant koopa next to him.

Sprawled on the ground the green plumber looked up and caught the King's eye, after staring at each other for a minute they both laughed, Bowser reached out a paw to Luigi and helped him up.

"Why did you do that? Now I have to go get changed." Luigi grumbled as he tried to wipe some mud off his pants but only succeeded in spreading it further. Giving up on the mud, Luigi picked the hose off the ground and started to walk towards the tap to shut it off when he felt himself getting pulled backwards and Bowser's arms wrapping around him "Wha-?"

"'Tesoro mio'...what does it mean?" Bowser mumbled into Luigi's hair, squeezing him just a little bit tighter.

Luigi's face turned red, as soon as heard those words he couldn't think, "O-oh u-um...Y-you see..it m-means.."

'Come on Luigi! You can do this!' Luigi thought to himself as he tried to form the words. "M-my Treasure. I-it means My Treasure." Luigi couldnt believe he said it. He didnt think Bowser would ask what it meant when he had only said it once before on accident. Closing his eyes, he braced for the rejection that was sure to come. 'It would hurt, more than anything else I can think of. No fights against King Boo or anyone else for that matter could compare, I don't think anything else ever could. '

Boswer feeling the small plumber tense in his arms, and with previous experience of how Luigi could spiral into his thoughts and make things worse than they are, tightened his arms a bit more but still enough for the smaller human to breathe, just whispered "I love it, as much as I love you, Green Stache. I love you."

Luigi froze in shock, after a few seconds he managed to pull away from the koopa enough to look him in the eyes to see if it was a cruel joke but there was nothing but truth. Blushing again he said with his whole heart,

"I love you too, Tesoro Mio"
