Gazing out at the sky from the roof was one of Beck’s only escapes that actually seemed to work these days. It was the only bit of his free time that he wasn’t found with his sister, both of them still hesitant about being apart too long. Early on, however, they agreed that they needed their time completely alone, so they would not try to kill each other at some point.
Usually, the hours he worked lended him a decent amount of time before someone interrupted his solace.
Hearing footsteps approach, Beck’s hand reflexively braced to stand up quickly if need be, before relaxing at the sound of her voice. “Long shift, wanted to try to clear my head before attempting for call asleep,” he replied looking up at her. “Trying to get away from everyone too?”
Life was weird. Sure her life was always weird, dark and, quite frankly, annoying. But living in an era where infected human beings became raging parasites wanting nothing but to rip into flesh and eat whatever they can was a whole level of weird she never expected; who did? Living for as long as she had during this new era surprised Megan, but she was thankful for every day that passed by and she was able to live like a normal human being.
She had made Eric promise, if anything were to happen to her, the virus mutated and began infecting the immune, he would kill her if she would turn - and vice versa.
Going up to the roof, Megan needed the fresh air to clear her mind before going off to bed. As soon as the wind hit her skin, she could feel herself instantly relax. As she rounded the corner, the woman realized she wasn’t alone. “Needed some fresh air?” the woman asked, approaching them. @tfh-starters

Kris would have loved this place. The thought crossed his mind pretty much every day since he and Ellie had settled at Crescent. It seemed odd, as he made his way back through the corridors after being relieved from his shift. Then again, that was just the kind of thing his sister was interested in; sociological experiment. She would probably have been boring him with some sort of theoretical analysis of the hospital. He would kill for that to be his reality.
Rubbing his tired eyes, his only thoughts were on getting to his bed to crash for his long awaited nap. Letting out a sigh to release the tension in his shoulders, he realized that there was someone headed in his direction. He wish be could be rude, and ignore the person to get to his bed sooner, but that was not in his nature. The only thing he could hope that the answer to his question was no.
“Something I can help you with?”
