A masterpiece from Ágnes Herczku's -one of my most favourite Hungarian singer's - latest folk album (Tüzet viszek / Guarding Fire). It's called Haláltánc (Dance of Death). 

This theme portrays the unhappiness, pain and suffering felt by the women within the Hungarian ballads. One common denominator within these ballads is that the women prefer to choose death as a means of escapism from an inner unhappiness.

The origin of the folk song is Buza, Mezőség, Transylvania.
