So this lady came in this morning and walked up to the front desk to greet us before gasping loudly and saying “I forgot my dog”
She forgot to bring her dog with her
To the vet

Pants are the most environmentally friendly hand drying method.
Hey Hank, I've been wondering something. Which is better for the environment: paper towels or electric hand-dryers? The electric ones usually say they're better, but it seems to me since they are powered by fossil fuels (I've never seen a solar powered one), made of metal and plastic (unlike a renewable source like wood), and not biodegradable (unlike paper products) this seems like a dubious claim. I was just curious and figured you'd know something about the topic.
Paper towels are also powered by fossil fuels. Trees are cut down and processed by machines powered by fossil fuels and shipped across the country in trucks. And, of course, cutting down trees has its own set of ecological problems that have much more to do with individual forests than the Earth’s climate.
So the answer is, I don’t know. What I do know is that hand dryers are cheaper and easier to maintain than paper towel dispensers, which is the actual reason public restrooms have them. And also, I know that your hand drying choice has a very small impact on the environment. Much smaller than, say, where you choose to live (in a small apartment in a walkable neighborhood or a big house an hour drive from work.) Or what you choose to eat (meat vs anything but meat.)

Today, I fucked up... by buying a bottle of wine at the movies
Went to fancy movie theater with date. Decide to buy a bottle of wine. Go back to bar. Ask for two glasses. Bartender says he needs two ID’s. I’m too lazy to go back to seats to grab dates ID. Tell him I’m alone and was embarrassed to ask for just one glass. He is clearly sympathetic. Idiot me then tries to sell the story and continue on about how lonely I’ve been recently. He tells me he’s off in a few minutes and insists on watching the movie with me. I try to fight it but I could only argue so much without giving away the truth. Bartender is insistent. I text my date what’s happening. Go back to theater with my new date. Sit a few rows in front of my first date. She has the stupidest grin on her face as me and the bartender (Jared) sit a couple rows in front of her. He ends up being super cool and bought me and him another bottle during the movie. Movie ends. I thank him for his gesture. He didn’t even ask for my number or anything. I think Jared was just a genuine guy trying to comfort someone. Met back up with my date in the parking lot and thankfully she found the whole thing hilarious.
I don’t deserve Jared.
