The entire group had breakfast which was rather disappointing as the coffee tasted more like hot chocolate and wasn't helping with my tired state. This was our last day in Paris and I decided to take random pictures of passing strangers for the theme; Cliche. I took a photo of my friends since I felt like capturing a memory and I knew I would miss them. We were on our way to Montmartre to explore the area for potential photos worthy for our assessments.

We took many trains and a ticket to a cart-like contraption to arrive in Montmartre where we visited the Sacre Coeur. I was on the hunt for tokens of love for the Cliche theme. Love heart locks were being sold outside the front of the Sacre Coeur in hopes of pulling the heartstrings of lovers to purchase the useless items. It was an extremely hot day so 1 Euro water bottles were being promoted. The Montmartre was on top of a hill so the view overlooking the area was breathtaking on that sunny day.

As I was exploring the area I suddenly bumped into James and Jorja, a lovely surprise, so we walked together to further explore the rest of the area. We came across a few vintage cars and started gushing over how beautiful they looked. The yellow car was my favourite as it was vibrant and was peculiar in its own way. We saw a couple of policemen walking around with rather bigs guns which immediately made us uncomfortable as we are not used to seeing such things back in Australian.

As James, Jorja, and I were walking down further we saw a whole street filled with more different varieties of cars, there were many types of cars from many different eras. It was like the bringing of generations of cars to admire for the people. The blue car was James favourite whereas Jorja’s favourite was a light brown station wagon was Jorja’s favourite. We were close to the Sacre Coeur so there were so many tourists that it was difficult to get a picture of anything, not even the cars. Jorja and James wanted to wonder elsewhere so I continued my journey by myself.

As I was walking the streets by myself I came across a little photo shoot where two people dressed as a married couple were being photographed. I took a few shots in hopes of it contributing to the Love token and Cliche theme of the study tour. The bride saw I was taking pictures and started laughing and waved at me. I smiled back and walked away slightly embarrassed for being caught. Figured since she was getting her photo shot it wouldn't break the rule of taking pictures without their consent.

Further down I walked and stumbled upon a fork in the road with a stunning millennial pink building, The La Maison Rose, in the middle. Later I got a text from my group chat from friends who wanted to grab a quick lunch before deciding what to do next in relation to the Moulin Rouge we were to be attending later that night. I quickly snapped a few shots of buildings I found beautiful out of fear that someone might scold me for taking a picture of anything due to hearing horror stories from other members of the group.

Walking around the hill of Montmartre was peaceful since there was so much greenery to appreciate and admire. I walked along Rue Cortot, It wasn't as crowded as compared to the Sacre Coeur so I got to enjoy the quiet while I could. The entire street was covered in cobblestone that I nearly tripped every so often, I was worried I might injure myself thus ruining the rest of the trip. Made sure I picked up the pace so I could get lunch with my friends and discuss tonight’s plans.

I passed many houses on my way back to my friends but came across one with many child-like drawings on the front of the house. I wondered why and chalked it up to the parents being proud of their children's artworks or was forced by their child to do so either way, it was adorable nonetheless. A huge garbage bin was next to the house overflowing with trash bags which produced a horrendous smell, thankfully I saw a garbage truck coming up the street as I walked down.

La Bohème du Tertre was the restaurant my friends and I decided to have lunch as it was close to Shane and Bronek to discuss photography related work. The service was bad and the food was not worth the price it was marked. I searched and found that the restaurant is reviewed with 2.9 stars which seems accurate. There weren’t many chairs in the shade so I had to sit in the sun which was torture as the sun was at its peak and burning me.

As we waited for the server to take our order I noticed a man walking around asking tourists if they wanted to be drawn, one even came up to us and asked but we declined as we rather eat in peace first. Once the server came around Lily and I decided to split the escargot plate as it would cheaper and we would rather save our appetite for the Moulin Rouge. All the while we were complaining about the overpriced food and the amount of time we had to wait for the server to ask for anything.

My phone was about to die so I decided to take pictures of tourists in hopes of finding a link to the theme of Cliche. A woman with a rainbow tote bag came and stood in front of us, I found her outfit aesthetically pleasing, I found it hilarious with her beautiful outfits creating a contrast amongst not as great outfits. My friends were gossiping so I tried to tune them out to focus on my surroundings. I tried to focus on the faces of tourists on and try to figure out where they were from to pass the time.

The man in the green top completely captured my attention as it very much suits his skin tone and hair colour. Unfortunately, the camera couldn’t capture the colours quite well since it dulls the colours down rather than being vibrant and bright as it was. The food had arrived and it looked delicious. The dish was also accompanied by weird tongs which are used to hold the snail shells, sadly the shells kept moving so getting the snails out of the shells proved to be difficult with the tongs.

Jade was furious when she found out Lily and I had snails without her as she wanted to share the moment with us for some odd reason. The food was alright but the bread was too stale. We waited for the server to come around to take our money so we could leave since we had to meet up with the rest of the group for a final recap of tomorrow's departure and plan. We were growing restless as well as the old American tourists next to us.

My friends and I were making our way down the stairs next to the cart-like contraption as it was cheaper and easier. We came across a few stickers stuck to the wall. It captured our attention as it was very graphic yet alluring, very different to the more elegant and sophisticated artworks we’ve seen so far on the trip. Down the stairs we noticed a man running up and down the stairs, his foot had to be on an angle when walking down the smooth part of the stairs so I was afraid he would inevitably fall and twist his ankle.

After the meet up with Shane and Bronek, my friends and I quickly made a plan on what had to be down before the Moulin Rouge later that night. We walked towards the train station and came across a shoe store and bought a pair of heels since the dress code was Formal. Later we shopped for makeup and accessories, as well as doing our laundry that had to be quickly done. As the night drew near we donned our fanciest gowns and went to the Moulin Rouge and got drunk off champagne and naked women.
