This. It's actually insane how controversial some fans think this is, when in reality it's what makes most narrative sense. And I'll raise you one; I think they must make it more obvious than jancy, simply because of all the implications you mention. Sex would mean so much more here, not only to the characters but to the story as a whole. It could mirror stancy's scene in season 1, only this time instead of someone dying horribly something good would happen alongside it (Max waking up perhaps.. ?). Make it tender, loving and full of desire without making it crude or hiding away from the act itself. I want to see it spelled out so there is no doubt; sex, with the right person, at the right time, is a life-affirming, life-giving act of creation. I can't imagine a more powerful lesson from a show that's shown, again and again, how self-acceptance through connection is the antidote to the fear and shame that the horrors of life throw at us.

now back to the point:

will has heard his whole life how being gay is this disgusting, dirty, vile thing - from his father & from bullies at school. likely other adults around the town, as well, considering we hear troy referencing what his dad said about will being killed by "some other queer" in season 1. not to mention this story is set in the midst of the aids epidemic. i mean, he's from a small town in bumfuck indiana, he's no doubt heard his share of casual and overt homophobia throughout the years. (and then there's the alan turing poster in s4...) long story short, he's only heard negative things about being gay. about loving other boys and wanting other boys and desiring other boys.

but then there's mike. his best friend. the one person that makes him feel like he's not a mistake for being different. for being gay.

mike & will having sex, being intimate and together in a way will was always taught was gross and wrong, and learning that it isn't any of those things - will learning that loving mike and wanting mike and desiring mike is beautiful, and wonderful, and right - and having mike want him back, desire him back, learning that it's okay, it's good, continuing that arc of mike making him feel like he's not a mistake, that he's better for being different because he gets to have this with mike - he deserves that moment, i think. and mike does, too.

I raise you one; he's talking about both El and Will. All in a jumbled mess cause well that's how the inside of your mind is Michael; a mess. The line saying it's "not destiny but pure dumb luck" is definitely partly about El. But then he slips into refering to Will instead with the "superman" and "being the first to realise he's she's special". His whole speech is like this. And that makes perfect sense cause Mike is so so confused. El and Will blend together for him. A lot of people says he knows about his feelings for Will. I'd argue that yes, he does, it's just mostly subconscious at this point. Will in the other hand knows. He knows and his lying is much more deliberate. Mike on the other hand is lying to himself, lying to everyone else is just a consequence. But the truth still slips through, the whole way he's looking at Will during his speech, the soft almost serene smile he's giving him. That is not about hearing his girlfriend needs him. It's all about this moment with Will, recieving the painting he's wondered about, and connecting with the person that means the most to him.

Haven't really had the energy to post about this before, mostly because what am I supposed to say? What is any stay supposed to say?

We have so preciously little to go on.

A purposely vague announcement worded almost exactly as the one given when Day6's Junhyeok was kicked out, Chan's letter posted on fanship in the middle of the goddamn night and then... nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Now, I in no way feel like I have right to any information regarding any of the members. They should get a lot more privacy than they currently have in my opinion. But the way this is handled encourages speculation and makes it look fishy af. And it doesn't sit right with me.

Considering all the scandals with companies mistreating and downright abusing idols/trainees to the Burning Sun fiasco and that godforsaken group chat I feel like I don't really trust anyone. I feel like we at least have the right to know that there was no foul play involved, from anyone's side. Continuing to support Stray Kids is going to be awkward af without closure.

And I know, the chance if JYPE actually addressing this is close to zero. They did not do it for Junhyeok. I don't expect it now, especially if the split wasn't amiable.
