I helgen är det SIS; Stockholms Internationella Seriefestival! Och där kommer mitt alldeles nya fanzine vara!!! Ni kan hitta det tillsammans med massa andra fina fanzines (och annat) från  @hannaltis @turderland och @ylvaoknelid samt nyaste @Dendrolagus vid bordet till mitt favorit-serie-kollektiv; Grytet! I dag firar jag att jag överlevt i 30 år! Bra jobbat mig tycker jag! Därför firade jag det med att tuscha den första sidan på min bok!! Och det blev också jättesnyggt tycker jaaag! Nu ska jag äta princesstårta!!

A bit late but I'm in the @hiap_suomenlinna yearbook of 2016 for my comics-in-residency there! It's a some nice photos of my work and workspace and a really nice interview with me and my great time there as well! And also some other cool things of course!!

HIAP Yearbook 2016

We are very happy to announce the HIAP 2016 Yearbook and would like to thank all our partners and collaborators who made 2016 a very special year!

With nearly 300 pages, this is the most extensive HIAP annual publication so far, featuring contributions related to 46 residencies and residency exchanges, which is more than half of all the 74 residencies we hosted in year 2016. The yearbook is filled with an extremely diverse content, from Laura Harrington’s writing on the investigation of peatlands and Josephine Baan’s text on the relevance of walking to Mirko Nikolić’s shared trans-species conversations, and from Mikkel Sommer’s comic Best Goal to Jean-Maxime Dufresne & Virginie Laganière’s Normal Times on Helsinki’s bedrocks, to mention just a few. The publication also features the four exhibitions that were held in HIAP Gallery Augusta (Minna Pöllänen, Barbara Knezevic & Jaana Laakkonen, Wolf von Kries, Lene Baadsvig Ørmen), live notes from the Polyphonic Discussion with Jacques Rancière, as well as a selection of images from various events.

På Platebutikken Tiger (@tigersjappa) finns over ti år av #fanzine -laging og de siste eksemplarene av det meste jeg har laget. October is ADHD awareness month! I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was ten years old. ADHD for me is both a strength and a struggle. I makes me really creative, energetic and fun. The want and need for stimuli makes me try new things and expand my horizons and mind. My impatience for small-talk makes me have thoughtful and deep conversations even with strangers and my interest in people, feelings and relationships is a good ground for meaningful relationships. The way my brain is wired makes me come up with different solutions and thought processes and people find me funny and fun to be with.

But having ADHD is hard! It’s hard to focus on things I need to do, I get so easily overwhelmed and stressed if I don’t plan everything into detail or if a plans changes, misunderstanding people is really easy because navigating social codes comes hard for me and just doing everyday tasks like brushing teeth, cooking food and cleaning takes so much more energy than for neuro-typical people. The difficulty of controlling emotions and impulses makes me difficult to deal with for both me and my close ones and is a ground for conflicts. My excess energy turns into anxiety if I don’t use it for something physical. When I try to tell people that I have ADHD I often get the ”ah don’t we all” or ”yeah I get so restless” or similar and it makes me sad when my struggles to even do things people take for granted makes me exhausted and people just see it as me being lazy. ADHD is not just being hyperactive, hyperactivity is the least of my problems.

That being said I would never trade having ADHD for anything! I urge you all to use October to learn a bit about ADHD! This day’s inktober goes out to all my ADHD-siblings, some of you are even pictured in it!
