⌜“Is that so?” ⸥ A pause after, letting the words hang in the air as he took off his hat, bowing. Straightening, the thief gave the empress a glance over, before resting his eyes on the other’s face.

⌜“You must have some lovely servants then, if I could not evade detection from them…  I am glad you enjoyed the gift, however. Struck by your brilliance, I could not hold myself back from gifting it to you- instead of tossing it into some forgotten vault, never to be seen again~” ⸥

“Well, a fine lady who likes nature and animals, hmm? Well, anything that wastes too much resources is a definite ‘no’ then.” He pondered for a little bit.

“There’s always floral arrangements, or perhaps if your lady is likes tea, a different variation of something she drinks would be good. You could try compiling a book of animals she’s never seen before, depending on what type of animals she likes.”

“That’s… an odd question coming from you. Depends on what sort of lady you’re talking about. Are you talking about Hilla-grade lady, or Empress Cygnus-grade lady? Cause one end will prefer expensive perfume and tons of make-up and the other doesn’t.”

She crossed one leg over the other, looking amused herself. A dashing man dropping in from the ceiling? My, that was a surprise. He was quite easy on the eyes, if she had to say so herself.

Though, where had she seen that hat and cane before?

“Aren’t you just a dashing young flatter now? My subjects still detect your presence with their webs, you know. That being said, this is a lovely gift you’ve presented me.”

Empress Maximus wasn’t expecting a box to be dropped on her head. First of all, who would have the gall to do so? Brushing said thoughts aside, she inspects the box closely. She senses nothing malicious or magical from the box, so proceeds to open it without a care.

“My… What a beautiful necklace,” She mused, turning the elegant jeweled necklace in her hand. “A wonderful gift. Thank you, Mr S-Rvn… But why don’t you show your face and join me for tea this fine night?”

headcanons to consider

can they use chopsticks? Commander: Will can use chopsticks and but occasionally tries to be fancy and then poke himself in the eye with it. Smartass. Maximus doesn’t use them at all, so he can’t. Emperor: ^ Pretty much the same. what do they do when they can’t sleep:  Commander: Will likes to get a good book and read until h e falls asleep. Maximus curls up in his spider form in a bunch of web (and gives Will a heart attack for making him think he’s dead

Emperor: Spider Emp Maximus prefers to brood darkly, sometimes calling Will to chat with. William lights a small scented candle to help sleep.

what would they impulse buy at the grocery store: Commander : Will likes to impulse buy tea. Maximus impulse buys groceries as if they’re preparing for a siege.

what order do they wash things in the shower: Commander: Will just likes to start with the shoulders and back, especially if he’s using hot water. Maximus starts with his face, paying attention to the eyes before moving on to the rest of his body.

Emperor: Maximus follows the same order as his butler counterpart. Will starts with his hair, going from top to bottom. what’s their coffee order: Black coffee for Will. Maximus doesn’t like drinking coffee.

what sort of apps would they have on their smartphone: Both Wills will have any sort of writing apps. Butler Maximus would have apps that record down recipes, while Spider Emperor Maximus secretly has Neko Atsume and the Spider version of it.

how do they act around children: Both Wills act rather nervously around children. They’re not good with them but try their hardest not to be utter jerks. Butler Maximus tends to be quite formal and stays out of the way. Emperor Maximus has a surprisingly soft spot for human children. Well, porbably because they’re kids and don’t know better.

what would they watch on tv when they’re bored and nothing they really like is on: The news. Really. All of them would.

He looked like he'd been rejected at death's doorstep. The dark circles under his eyes amplified the hostility in his scowl. Cuts and bruises colored his skin, hinting at deeper injuries. Clearly he'd been sticking his nose in places where it doesn't belong, and Will's domain was one of those places. But he was out of leads, and perhaps the Spider King could provide one. "Will," he said gruffly, "I know you have eyes everywhere. Surely you've an idea of Evan's whereabouts?"

This was most certainly a surprise for Will. He didn’t expect Maximus to come running in saying that he had a most unexpected, and probably undesired guest. Maximus was good at chasing unwanted guests away, so for him to allow Eclipse in... Well, it spoke volumes, to say the least.

Seeing the other, however... To put it simply, he looked like trash right now. Hearing Eclipse’s question, he was reminded of the sorrow he felt when his own subjects could no longer provide him information on  his friend’s location. And as much as he would love to scorn and sneer at Eclipse - someone who has been all too joyful in beating him up-

Will was all too familiar with the pain of losing someone he treasured deeply.

“Unfortunately, I do not. My subjects too, have lost sight of him,” He spoke. His voice was oddly sympathetic. He gave Eclipse another look over. Injuries everywhere. He snapped his fingers and Maximus appeared at his side. “Come inside.” Nothing more had to be said, not right now.

“Don’t worry. If there’s anything I know, they don’t die so easily... At least, not yet. I wish you a good day, sir.”

askcommander-will:

“I agree - None of my collegues are say… fast enough to keep up with me. I used to have one such friend, but we’re distanced, I’m afraid. I don’t know if you would want to know the people I work with. I don’t even know where they are now.”

I don’t think my boss will appreciate any of those comments…

“I think I’ll like to know! It’s always good to expand one’s social circle after all.”

Well, guess what, I don’t care.
