she would spend nights locked in her room trying not to listen to the yelling and watching old black and white movies, imagining she was katharine hepburn or lauren bacall, or anyone besides lydia 

at school it was much the same, lydia had long ago learned that love and friendship were transactions, things to bolster your image according to her parents. so she kept relatively few friends and was cold to the rest

she had no interest in shallow or false connections with people who she felt ultimately did not care about her 

theatre was her one love. there she could escape from the virility of her everyday life and become someone else if only for a little bit. it was like escaping into a good book only she became the character

she got a couple small roles here and there but her breakthrough role came as a supporting lead in a high school drama film 

from there after a viral marketing campaign her career skyrocketed and she was getting film offers left and right 

and the when it seemed like for once in her life everything was going right her father was arrested for conning billions out of innocent families underneath one of his financial advisory firms 

many people were sent into financial ruin and her father became a universally hated figure, the jungs and their lavish lifestyle became the target of a media witch hunt, and lydia’s promising career seemed gone in the blink of an eye 

in a risky move she publicly cut off her family including her siblings whom she was actually close with 

this seemed to win her some public favor but she still remains a controversial figure in the film world 

she is a stubborn and private woman who is easier to work with than she is to be friends with 

she lives in pretty much a constant state of emotional turmoil she never really knows what she’s doing or where she’s going

personal bodyguard: because of lydia’s family’s reputation she often faces threats and pretty virulent public hatred. because of this her agency assigned her a private bodyguard. she’s averse to the idea and so far has been cold towards them but they have a slowly growing friendship

people wronged by her father: her fathers illegal activities put several households into financial ruin, i would love to see someone whose family was affected by this.
