Well how-de-doody. I guess it's appropriate that this morning you were laying giggling on the floor of my apartment (I'm counting it as this morning because it was past midnight). In the past four years, we've drank far to much wine, whiskey, inhaled things we shouldn't have been inhaling (for health reasons of course ;)), and eaten far too much greasy food to admit unless in a semi-sentimental public post about our friendship. We have acted, and danced, stretched, teased, shared heartbreak and heartache and happiness and songs, as well as a number of stages and spaces playing music. Because of you, I felt more confident sharing my music with the world. Because of you, I've begun sharing my poetry, and because of you, I know and have come to love @lil_viss I have found what I want to do in music, and I now talk way too much about butts and what comes out of them. I don't care how much you drink or get sick or smell or sweat or cry or yell or laugh or smoke or talk or gossip, I will always be here for you. Your friendship means a lot to me (more than a post can say) and I am so thankful for the last four years. I can't wait to see what unmentionable things we get up to this next four years. Thankful for today. We do not sit down, we stand up. We do not quiet ourselves; We find the strongest words and give them our strength. We will not go backwards, we will not give up the fight, we will not let our sisters down, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, color, size, or ability. We will teach our sons not to rape, teach our sons that sensitivity is a strength, and our daughters how to believe in themselves and support each other. We will prompt real conversation with those around us, educate ourselves, encourage others to push themselves to be better people, and fight for the future of human rights. Why? Because women's rights are human rights. Because black lives matter. Because consent is important and no means no, and women's health also applies to the health of gender neutral people, gender queer people, and trans women and girls. Because you cannot pray the gay away. Because the history of indigenous peoples is the reason for this country that we now call ours, and they deserve respect, acknowledgement, and basic human rights. We have the power to make a difference, and while we fight against a man and government who stand to do so much harm, we must realize that we need one another more than ever. So let's stand up, and stand together. We are the wall that Trump claims he will build, but we will build the wall to protect the world from all the hate he stands for.
