yoonmin - secret admirer

jimin peels the blue sticky note off of his binder. “stop drinking milk,” he reads. “you should stay shorter than me. since you’re cuter.”

jimin wrinkles his nose. “what the…” he’s about to toss it when he stops and takes another look at it. since you’re cuter. he purses his lips and looks at the bottle of milk beside him. 

“fine,” jimin sighs to no one and sitting on the window sill, unseen, yoongi grins.

jimin finishes his lap and bends over, panting. he jogs over to his water bottle only to find a pink post it note stuck to the cap. 

“you look hot when you exercise nice muscles. brat.” jimin laughs when he reads it. looking around, he wonders if his secret admirer is still watching and flexes a bicep. 

yoongi falls out of a tree when he sees it but thank god ghosts don’t feel pain anymore.

“don’t cry. who gives a shit about those bastards,” jimin reads, wiping at the tears on his cheeks. he buries his head in his hands, trying to make himself as small as possible. bruises shine dark and purple against his arms and legs. it’d been a mistake to come out, he shouldn’t have –

he throws the post it note away. “what the fuck is a secret admirer if he just sends you notes and won’t even come out to protect you when the whole school hates your guts,” jimin mutters angrily. he stands up, painfully stretching his arms and legs. he’ll go to class and meet another wave of spitballs and he’ll have to pretend like he doesn’t want to die inside. 

yoongi was sitting in front of jimin the entire time he was crying, transparent fingertips trying to brush away the tears on jimin’s face. when jimin leaves the bathroom, he walks right through yoongi and yoongi looks sadly at the floor, wishing things were different.

jimin no jimin don’t do it! yoongi wants to scream but there’s nothing he can do he’s a ghost there’s nothing – 

he can only watch as jimin says one last prayer and jumps. 

“JIMIN!” he screams and he disappears, reappearing at the bottom of the building but there’s nothing he can do. jimin lays on the floor, a dark pool of blood staining the concrete and yoongi falls to his knees. “no, no, no, no, no,” he says brokenly and jimin lets out a breathless laugh. 

“wow,” he says. “my secret admirer’s a ghost?” 

yoongi blinks at him. “you can see me?” 

“sorta. very faintly. you’re getting clearer and clearer though. must be because i’m dying.” 

tears begin to fall from yoongi’s eyes. “you shouldn’t have done that. you could have lived a long, happy life.” 

“sorry i’m too weak,” jimin says. “did i disappoint my secret admirer?” 

yoongi shakes his head. “it’s my fault i couldn’t protect you.” 

jimin blinks slowly. he’s losing consciousness. “it isn’t anyone’s fault but mine.” he lifts a hand to brush yoongi’s face but loses energy and it falls limp again. but nevertheless, he’d touched yoongi and that makes yoongi cry harder. “ah…you’re so pretty.” 

people begin to crowd around jimin now and someone calls for an ambulance but it’s too late, too late, and nobody sees yoongi on his knees crying, long after they take jimin’s body away. 

ghosts aren’t supposed to feel pain anymore but yoongi feels like he’s just died a second time.

yoongi flits through the days boredly. no one else has, and will ever, catch yoongi’s interest and he whiles his days away thinking of what he would have written for jimin today. 

on his nineteenth birthday: “our jiminnie is finally an adult, huh? still cute though. brat.” 

on his graduation day: “you finally made it, kid. congratulations!” 

his first girlfriend: “ahhh, this hurts my heart, jiminnie T^T but if she makes you happy, then i’m glad for you. don’t mess up the first kiss, brat!” 

and he wouldn’t have written any more notes for jimin after that in fear that it would scare jimin. but he would have watched over that boy for the rest of his life, wishing that jimin would be happy and smiling every day. 

it’s been five years now. jimin would have been twenty-three.

yoongi still visits jimin’s grave every year to leave him a green post it note.

i love you, park jimin. i miss you.

“hello there, secret admirer!” 

yoongi spins around at the familiar, achingly familiar voice.

“jimin?” he stares. 

“in the…ghostly flesh!” jimin grins. “ahh i finally get to meet you! i’ve been waiting so long, haha.” 

“ji…min…” 

“that’s me!” jimin says and his smile is just as bright as yoongi remembers. “so what’s your name, secret admirer?” 

yoongi reaches out a hand and touches jimin’s cheek. it feels solid under his fingertips. they’re of the same dimension now. “i’m…min yoongi.” 

“nice to meet you, hyung,” jimin grins, eyes curving into crescents. “i’m a little in love with you.” 

“same here…” yoongi says, voice shaky with emotion. “brat.”

“I love you” he said.

“I love you too.” I said.

Somehow, along the way of “I love you”s, we managed to fall apart and all I can feel is the pain. And it’s the feeling of experiencing your chest hurt because of so much pain. And then it’s gone. And I’m left numb and wondering, “Where did it all go wrong?”

Default

When you get your heart broken so much, you feel the need and desperation to move on. As you’re on that stage, someone helps you and makes the ride easier, less bumpier, and very worthwhile. But in the end, it was only temporary. The one you thought would help you through this one hell of a ride, actually becomes the reason why this ride would become more and more bumpier. Because the one you thought would help you, would actually push you to the edge and break you even more. And when you get over the shock of being even more broken than before, you just feel numb. You’re a walking corpse, still here, but not quite. And then you just feel your heart slowly healing itself. But through the process, your heart needs someone inside of it, to fully recover. And then your heart goes back to the person who first ruined you, the one responsible for your heartaches. Because your heart goes back to default. It was used to loving that person, so it goes back to that person on default. Your poor, bruised, and shattered heart, still hoping that someday it’ll get fixed by the person who first broke your heart. Because maybe, the one who ruined you in the first place, would be the one to pick up the pieces and heal your shattered heart.

stop coming up to my bed: self explanatory

this whole interview: i feel like this was the first time we properly got to see some sort of change in ym’s relationship since they’re just so playful here, jimin’s so casual with yoongi and yoongi shows a lot more affection towards him than he usually does (and also yoongi comforting/praising/massaging jimin after he gets cut off at 06:38 is gold)

chicken dates: not just the fact that they go on chicken dates together, but jimin was so weird about it when he mentioned it

you know / i know: tae and hobi were teasing him as usual but then jimin was so shy and soft and ??? what does yoongi Know that jimin can’t say on camera

i spent all night talking with jiminnie: look at him smiling so fondly,,, and the dvd caption makes it even better: ‘they’re stuck together every day, why do they have so much to say (to each other)’

i once went to suga hyung’s house: we all joked that he would and then he really DID

mama 2016: they were so playful the whole night and the only time they separated was when they were on stage…

yoongi not being able to stop talking about how hot jimin is: also self-explanatory

the way jimin missed yoongi during his absence: nobody asked him to carry around the stand/fan in his place but he did anyway. and he was so happy to have him back too

There’s this Bangtan Episode for Bangtans’ first birthday party in that video Jimin and Yoongi are decorating a cake, on their way back to the dorm Yoongi starts complaining that Jimin doesn’t like him, so Jimin scoots really close to him and says “Hyung, I like you Hyung” in a very low voice and everytime I think of that I yell on the inside. 

During an Inkigayo Fanmeet Yoongi was explaining the reason that he teases Jimin so much is because he really loves him and he’s cute, he then asks Jimin for a hug and everyone else in Bangtan starts screaming from the sudden affection coming from Yoongi. (:

When Bangtan was playing Jenga in a Bangtan Bomb they switched up the rules and decided that the loser would have to kiss someone else, at the end the loser ends up being Jimin and Jimin decides to ask Yoongi “Would you like to kiss with me?”, everyone else in Bangtan gets excited about this as they loudly start chanting “It’s Suga-Hyung!” and Taehyung even starts to lightly hold him down, when Jimin starts walking towards Yoongi, slowly removing his jacket, the fact that Yoongi just sat there waiting for it was something to scream about. 

Another one of my favorite moments was during Kiss The Radio, when Yoongi was asked if he was composing any songs lately, he then answered that he was and that he was thinking of giving a song to Jimin because he’s a really hard worker.

During BTS FESTA 2016 each member had to answer questions about another member to see how much they knew about them, for Jimin’s questions it said things like “Thigh Measurement?” and “Ring Size?”, after Namjoon finishes answering all of Jimins’ question Yoongi then said “I would’ve easily got all the answers right if I did Jimins’.” if that doesn’t scream Yoonmin to you, I don’t know what does. 

There was this radio that Yoongi did on VLIVE and it was his birthday, he had called Jimin asking where he was to which Jimin replied “I’m in your heart hyung.”, a few seconds later Jimin came out and surprised him with a cake, he had also gotten Yoongi a sweater for his birthday that Yoongi had immediately put on. Towards the end of the stream Yoongi asks each member to say something to him because it’s his birthday, Hoseok and Taehyung both say something along the lines of “Thank you” but Jimin just looks at Yoongi and says “You know” to which Yoongi replies “I know”. The whole stream was just screaming Yoonmin to me. 

Also I think that Jimin during Yoongi’s ISAC basketball game deserves a spot on this list too. In this video you basically see Jimin at Yoongis feet, doing whatever he can to make sure that Yoongi is not feeling any stress before and during his baskteball game. Jimin even takes it up a notch and starts cheering for him really loudly, catching everyones’ attention.
