Advent Client Spotlight: The Couch Tomato in Manayunk

When The Couch Tomato in Manayunk was looking for ideas to help expose their product to additional audiences they turned to the team at ADVENT. Owners Craig & Mike were looking to tap into Roxborough for those who may not have tried their award winning restaurant. ADVENT was able to help facilitate The Couch Tomato’s inclusion in Roxtoberfest, the signature fall event on Ridge Avenue in Roxborough. 

Through promotions for the festival, The Couch Tomato was featured on Good Day Philadelphia discussing their expansion into the West Chester market and the delicious Cider Braised Pulled Pork sliders being served at Roxtoberfest.   

By joining Roxtoberfest as a vendor, The Couch Tomato was able to interact with over 6,000 people during the event. Their pork cider sliders were such a hit, that they sold out!     

When The Couch Tomato was looking to advertise with online news outlet Billy Penn, the ADVENT team advised using a native marketing strategy to compose a brand highlight article about the 10 Reasons We Love The Couch Tomato In Manayunk. Using copy writing skills, witty gifs, and a love for everything Couch Tomato the end result was this mouth watering article. Take a read for yourself.

Lyceum Physical Medicine’s “Fall Into Health” Fair

Lyceum Physical Medicine held their seasonal health event yesterday that was themed as “Fall Into Health.” The health fair was an open house event that allowed patients both new and old to learn how Lyceum’s facilities and staff can help improve their lifestyle. The office was busy throughout the day with people seeking information from the staff. Guests flowed through six wellness stations where they were offered free chiropractic consultations, weight analysis, insurance assistance, pH measurements, chair massages and much more. 

Guests of the health fair were given free evaluations on the spot by Dr. Bill Pezzello. 

There was a tutorial for guests to learn about cutting edge supplements that Lyceum Physical Medicine uses to help patients achieve their weight loss goals.  

ADVENT enjoyed capturing all the fun & excitement of the “Fall Into Health” event. Lyceum’s friendly staff provided an engaging atmosphere and gave each guest a personal experience.  We understand that a bunch of attendees signed up as new patients. Congratulations to Roxborough Memorial Hospital on opening their newly renovated Emergency Room!

We were honored to be invited to celebrate the opening of the beautifully renovated emergency room at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. Over the past 125 years, this hospital has done more for the community than we can begin to explain or thank them for. Their constant dedication to Roxborough and the surrounding community is what sets them apart and makes them such a valuable organization.

Three years ago, Roxborough Memorial Hospital became a part of Prime Healthcare. Since then, they have put $30 million into remodeling the hospital and upholding their commitment of Saving Hospitals, Saving Jobs, and Saving Lives. Becoming a part of one of the top health care providers in the country has not only benefited the hospital but shows exemplary efforts of charitable giving by putting a heavy emphasis on helping others.

Our friends at Winnie’s LeBus continue to impress in and out of their Main Street restaurant. With a full team creating and replenishing a beautiful spread of wraps, cheeses and veggies, Winnie’s staff excelled once again. We also loved the display of cupcakes celebrating their 125th anniversary. Yes, they were just as wonderful as they looked.  

It was clear through the event’s attendance that the hospital is now thriving and we couldn’t be happier. As a Roxborough-Manayunk event production company, we see the hospital proudly supporting each community effort we bring to them. Whether it is through a sponsorship, assistance with promotion or simply attending events, we can count on their involvement. Thank you and congratulations on your 125th year and new renovations.

Manayunk-Roxborough Summer Business Networking Night a Huge Success

Simply put, we are overjoyed here at ADVENT with the networking event last night sponsored by Beneficial Bank of Roxborough. We can’t thank everyone enough for the ongoing support. In two short hours last night, we were able to raise over $2,250 for North Light Community Center. 

If you’re unfamiliar with North Light Community Center, they align kids and young adults with programs to help them find interests and even set them up with internships and jobs. They also offer emergency assistance to families in need. This charity is a huge benefit to the Manayunk and Roxborough Community and we are privileged to be able to help them in any way possible.

For those who missed it, the event was held at JD McGillicuddy’s in Manayunk. With the auction items downstairs and Alexis Cunningham playing upstairs, there was never a dull moment. They offered half off apps and $5 sandwiches which were delicious as always. If that wasn’t enough, they walked around giving out free samples of their new Cheddar Chorizo Burger which has been nominated for Philly Mag’s Battle of the Burger 2015 (if you had one, you know how fantastic it was and can vote here for it). What’s better than that?

Overall, we had over thirty items donated for the silent auction which was the real moneymaker on Wednesday. Not only did we have a great number of items but the quality was incredible. We had all sorts of things such as a medically supervised weight loss program from Lyceum Physical Medicine, eight rounds of golf at Talamore Golf Course donated by Doug Grom of Edward Jones, a Fireball fire pit along with a lot of swag (which I was almost immediately outbid for) from JD McGillicuddy’s, a LG Tablet from The Cellular Connection, and much more. 

We can’t say thank you enough to each and every person who helped make this event possible whether it was through donating an item for the auction, bidding on an item, entering the 50/50 raffle or putting in an open donation. 

The community support is incredible and we love seeing what we can do when we all come together for an incredible cause. We look forward to seeing you all at our Fall Manayunk-Roxborough Business Networking Event.

UPS Store hosts Alex’s Lemonade Stand Fundraiser

There is nothing that we love more than the chance to get involved with an event that raises money for a great charity. This past weekend, ADVENT had the opportunity to help out the UPS Store in Roxborough with their fundraiser benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

“It is due to supporters everywhere, including The UPS Store, that Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is moving closer to achieving the dream of our founder, Alex Scott, a cure for all kids with cancer.” - Gillian Kocher, Public Relations Publicist for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Daquan, our intern from North Light’s WorkReady Program, spent the day on Ridge Avenue in front of the store helping out the cause. All of the visitors had their sweet tooths satisfied from the lemonade, tasty cookies from Cafe Roma Bakery, and lollipops that were given out. For an afternoon where the high reached the upper 80′s, it was the perfect day to have the stand on the sidewalk. Of course, our signature Instagram frame was there to encourage guests to share their experiences with friends.

Just this past month, the UPS Store has raised $500+ for Alex’s Lemonade Stand in their fight against childhood cancer. Reggie, the owner, says, “we are thrilled to have received this much support from the community today. It’s great what we can accomplish when everyone gets together for a cause as important as this.” 

A huge thank you to everyone who came to help support Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Saturday. The day was a huge success in raising money for childhood cancer research.

ADVENT Takes Over for Sunday Day Parties at Valley Beach

Get your bathing suit, sunscreen, and shades on and head on over to Valley Beach Poolside Club to hang out with the ADVENT team every Sunday this summer. 

Each week, there is an acoustic performance in the afternoon followed by a DJ spinning after. The stage is at the front of it all right by the bar which has rotating drink specials - not to mention layered frozen cocktails which were delicious.

Aside from the drinks, the food is tasty, the ambiance is relaxed, and the staff are great. The time and money put into renovating this club was well worth it and they nailed it. From the pool to the outdoor games to the comfortable lounge chairs and towels, Valley Beach has become our favorite Sunday hangout spot. 

Valley Beach has seen it all from birthdays to bachelor and bachelorette parties to corporate outings. They’ll hook you up with great drink specials if you bring a group of friends or colleagues. Lyceum Physical Medicine’s Grand Opening Celebration

What a great success yesterday’s event at 6062 Ridge Avenue was! Beginning at 10 AM when the party started, the new office was full of clients and excitement. Guests flowed through six wellness stations where they were offered free chiropractic consultations, weight analysis, insurance assistance, pH measurements, and much more. They even had balloons full of prize tickets for guests to get. The grand prize being a 55″ TV. As for the ADVENT team, our unanimous agreement was the free massages were our favorite part of the experience. We all went back to the office relaxed and feeling great.

Their Instagram was booming with pictures in the poster frame made by Joe which was a hit with the clients (it got over 90 hits on IG under #LyceumPM!). After the grand opening party concluded, all were invited to the VIP Cocktail Hour and Reception in the evening. JD McGillicuddy’s catered the event which was absolutely delicious. There were crab stuffed mushroom caps, chicken tenders, bruschetta and much more. Everyone was stuffed full by the end of the evening. 

Outside, the tent was place to be with the music and beer. C.O. had the crowd moving with his acoustic music. He played a mix of everything from Tom Petty to Walk the Moon and kept the vibes positive throughout the night. 

Overall, the ADVENT team had such a wonderful time at the event yesterday. Thank you to Lyceum Physical Medicine for letting us get involved in such a great community event. Roxborough, PA is certainly an up and coming area and with events like this, we will make this town the best.
