i need to know your take on:

adam + camping (or the ducks + camping whichever you think would work better)

stop cuz this would be so cute. i feel like adam wouldn’t really know a lot about anything camping related. pitching a tent, starting a fire, s’mores? once charlie shows him how to make s’mores he’s obsessed. adam says “you know, charlie, i’m not the biggest fan of chocolate or graham crackers but this is amazing.” to which charlie replies “you know you can just eat the marshmallow right?” and then adam toasts the rest of the bag.

he’d probably think sleeping in the tent was a fun adventure since it’s different than he’s used to so he’s probably really excited about camping. although i think he might be self conscious that he doesn’t know about camping

he definitely doesn’t bring enough layers to sleep in bc he didn’t realise how cold it’d get but he survives

he’d probably be a little grumpy or at least quiet in the morning because all he wants for breakfast is some eggs and waffles but instead he’s helping take down the tent in the cold

all in all i think adam really likes camping, but would only want to do it every so often/with the right people

Utter chaos.

That's a phrase you'd use to describe the locker room. Everyone is trying to put on their gear and uniforms quickly, and half the team can't even find their stuff.

Usually, getting ready in the locker room is calm- or as calm as you can get with the ducks. But Coach had just told you guys about 5 minutes ago that your game between the Razorbacks had been changed from 7pm to 5pm, and it was currently 4:56pm.

"Man, we ain't got no time to warm up." Jesse complains, searching his locker for his helmet.

The team murmurs in agreement, still rushing to get everything together. As your strapping your padding on you hear the doors open.

"Shit, shit, shit, shit!" You hear Adam curse, running in, duffel bag hanging off his shoulder.

"Adam where were you?" Charlie calls out from across the room.

"I wasn't- coach- hold of me" He pants, seeming as though he ran the whole way.

"Coach couldn't get a hold of you?" You ask, trying to piece together what he said still shocked you heard him swear.

He nods, before rushing to his area slipping past the others, who were just about ready to get on the ice.

"Why's the door open?" Coach asks, before looking at the lot of you, already sweaty and out of breath.

"Cmon guys we need to be on the ice in 2 minutes!"

He leaves along with a few of the Ducks, but you stay, still needing to put on your jersey and lace up your skates.

Your rummaging through your locker, which is right next to Adam's might you add, as you feel a pair of cold, icy hands on your waist.

"Scuse me (Y/n)," Adam murmured, passing through the small space behind you to get to his locker.

The feeling of his hands on your waist sends you into shock, making you freeze, sending chills down your spine.

But reality hits when Bombay comes through the locker room one last time.

"(L/n), Banks, Germaine, Mendoza! Out of the locker room you guys are taking too long!" He booms, snapping you out of your trance.

You lace your skates, passing Adam one last time, catching a glimpse at his face. He has a stupid grin on his face, knowing he got to you.

"Good Luck, (L/n),"

"We'll definitely need it," you sigh, before putting your helmet on and joining the others.

Background

As we know, Adam grew up with a lot of money. He always got the best of everything; clothes, dinner, you name it.

Adam basically grew up without his mom because she died when he was a kid. His dad was the only example he had, which is why he was so awful. He was selfish, he was conceited, he was a bully, and he was sexist. It’s not his fault.

Adam always hung out with the kids who had money, it’s all he’s ever known. Money was what mattered most, in his life. It apparently came before family.

Adam’s dad used all the materialistic things as a substitute for love. (Psssst that’s why Adam’s love languages is gift giving). He rarely ever got anything but a pat on the back for anything. It was always work, money, and being better than everyone else.

“It’s not worth winning if you can’t win big.”

The Ducks

His dad hated it. He thought they weren’t good enough for his son. He thought Adam was too good.

But Adam was okay with it. He just wanted to play hockey.

In the beginning, he felt small. Like, tiny. It was so obvious that, for once, money and talent wouldn’t make them like him. That was a first. They weren’t fazed by how good he was or what brand of clothes he could afford. He had a bad attitude, and the ducks, specifically Jesse, hated it.

But Adam likes Bombay more than Riley. He was nice to Adam and, right away, it was like a pressure being lifted from his shoulders. He could have fun for once. He was allowed to be a kid on Bombay’s team. Bombay went out of his way to take the team to a pro game so they could have fun with each other. Riley would have never.

Jesse ended up being one of the best friends Adam’s ever had. His hatred for his beloved cake eater made Adam a better person and, while Jesse continuously felt bad for how he treated him, Adam would forever be thankful.

D2 was Adam’s peak. Things were great.

He was playing away from his father. This meant that his dad wouldn’t pick apart everything he did right after every game and find something to argue about. This meant that he could relax a little bit.

Adam and Julie got along pretty well. It was surprisingly easy for Adam to adapt to her personality, and she was a fairly patient person so it gave him time to open up more.

However, when his wrist got injured, he was terrified of what it would do to his dad’s dream. Adam just wanted to play, it was his dad who wanted him to go big.

Bombay really became a father figure for Adam during the Goodwill Games. Gordon believed in him and genuinely cared about him, not his hockey talent or money. He was there to give pep talks and pats on the back: the few things Adam never got from his dad. Bombay never hesitated to say, “I’m proud of you.” That’s what Adam needed.

D3 Adam deserved better. Everything that happened was beyond his control.

All he wanted to do was play hockey. But he was too good at it, so they put him on varsity. It was the worst thing for him.

His friends treated him like the villain because it was either join varsity or not play. He didn’t have a say in what team he played for, and The Ducks were way too quick to assume he just switched sides. They never listened to him.

The varsity treated him like shit. They’d talk about him behind his back, make sly remarks, and sometimes they’d ignore him. They talked about his friends right in front of his face. They forced him to go to parties he didn’t want to go to. And, worst of all, for every single prank they pulled on the other freshmen, they didn’t tell him a thing.

After a while, it was hopeless for Adam to say, “they don’t deserve that,” because he’d get shit for it. So he just stopped talking altogether.

I wish we had gotten to see how the team made up with Adam because, like, one minute they’re fighting and the next they’re friends again?? What??

In my mind, Adam didn’t get anything close to the apology he deserved. He got some mumbled apologies and sincere looks, and he took it because it was more than he’d ever gotten his entire life. But deep down, he wanted to scream at every single one of them. He deserved to.

I hate the way The Ducks were so okay with acting as if Adam was “one of them.” He deserved so much better.

Adam’s love life

Bro has issues. He’s so genuinely bad at interacting with people that he’d ignore you for days on end because he didn’t know how to talk to you.

He’s literally never experienced genuine affection, so he’s so so so scared. Like, oh you want to hold his hand? He all but blows up. He avoids it for quite a while.

Literally all he needs it patience and reassurance. If you listen to him and try to understand why he is the way he is, you’ll get there eventually.

You don’t understand. The bar is so low.

Literally just, like, be nice to him, don’t leave, and treat his friends with respect and he will love you forever. That’s how low the bar is. Do the bare fucking minimum and he’s ready for marriage bro.

But, no, he deserves so much better and I just love him so much.

Thinking about an angsty scene where the ducks are being rude to Adam again in d3 and the mc is like 🤨🤨 hello what? And then the ducks are like he's a traitor 😭😭 wahhh and the mc has to pick between friends or like moral correctness

I just noticed something. In D3, when the Ducks unleash the fire ants on the Varsity Adam isn't present. So either one of two things happened. Either they refused to bug Adam's room. Which honestly sounds adorable and sweet of them. Or Adam felt so bad about the dinner prank that he went home for the night to think things over. We can also confirm Adam wasn't effected due to the fact that he isn't sporting any bites like the other Varsity members. So, even if he was there the Ducks still cared enough about him to not hurt him. I have watched these movies numerous times over the last few days and have noticed a couple of other things that I may note later.

Things I've noticed in D3: The Mighty Ducks Part 1

I have watched these movies a few dozen times over the past 2 weeks and these are just some things I noticed.

When they are accepting their scholarships, Portman is with them. I missed him at first.

The Dean puts his arm around Charlie and Russ. While Charlie appears unbothered; Russ shows repulsion in a way.

So, Bombay obviously told Casey about the job offer which makes me question how long he actually knew.

In D2, it's mentioned Charlie had a step-dad. What happened to him? Is he dead?

I love that the new ducks are on time and the old ducks aren't. Also, when in the group, Luis seems less sleazy than he is later.

I appreciate how even if they're teenagers, the boys never treat the girl ducks as anything less than equal.

Charlie, why are you wearing 3 layers. I mean, I get it's Minnesota, but it's fall. It's not that cold.

In D2 and this one, the captions are sometimes wrong. Like you clearly know one person said a line, but another is credited. You'd think Disney could fix that.

Varsity says their the only hockey team but also states his brother lost his JV spot due to the Ducks. So which is it? Pick a lane, Riley.

The old ducks are seen skating in, and the formation is interesting. Averman in front, Connie and Guy next. Then you have Charlie and Adam, which, tbh makes me smile. Lastly, Fulton and Goldberg make sense cause they are technically the most inexperienced skaters.

Through his whole off trail trip, Goldberg manages to skate backward, downstairs, and through water without falling. For not being a skater, that's pretty impressive.

He also does like 4 spins after losing the hose but still stays standing. Like I said impressive. Also, why didn't he just brake? He's not Luis. He knows how to brake.

Also, when they go off the bridge and land, he stays standing. Face it Goldberg you're a skater, and damn good one.

I love how when they land, they automatically form the V again. Is that a subconscious thing, or did they just decide it one day.

I'm certain they just showed the horses as the Ducks skated in, so we wouldn't question where Dwayan found a horse. However, I didn't question it anyway. I thought it was just something he could do.

Poor Adam looks traumatized. Like he's questioning his whole life. "I was a good student, I grew up in a well todo place. How did I end up here?!"

Luis' look of exasperation is my favorite thing. He is so done with them.

You can tell the new ducks love the old cause they do facepalm, but it is with affection and not anger. Like, "Look at these dumbasses. Those are our dumbasses!"

I love how Charlie calls the other students prepsters. Like Charlie, you're from Minneapolis, Minnesota. It's not exactly the wrong side of the tracks, my dude!

Dean Buckley is unnecessarily creepy but I also love him ngl.

Of course, Adam is the only one dressed up. No wonder they call you preppy.

It's ok, Fulton, that teacher scares me too.

Oh, look, it's prevy Luis. I missed the you that ran into things. Also, why did they make the Latino character the womanizer. That seems kinda in bad taste.

Group just saw Ken get his lunch stolen and did nothing. Kenny deserves better.

Honestly, I love Linda, but she does feel like more of a prop than a character.

The fact that the whole team showed up in different uniforms. Unity, what's that, don't know her.

Scooter is too good for the other Varsity but the boy needs to grow a backbone. Tell your teammates to stop being dicks.

Dwayne is such a stereotype and God bless him for that.

I wish Julie and Connie shared more screen time. Their friendship is so adorable!

Charlie said they've been together for 4 years. So if the Goodwill Games was in 94 that means this takes place in 98. Meaning most of them were around 11 or 12 during the games and like 8, 9 or 10 in the original. Damn.

On skates, it looks like Adam and Charlie look to the be the tallest. With Dwayne being next. Interesting.

Adam always looks like he's one moment away from fight, flight, or freeze. Which is relatable, honestly.

Dwayne smacking Averman is too funny for some reason. Also, Averman sighs after like he's thinking, "I can't win."

Ken has been hanging out with Dwayne too much. That move was strictly showboating.

I love how Julie is so encouraging when she's in the goal. Constantly hyping up her team even when they miss or she blocks. Queen shit tbh.
