Hi there! I don't really have a blog right now, just sorta someone who likes to lurk around and look at blogs I think are nice, especially Touhous, and I saw your recent post, and figured that now would be a good time to say I really love your portrayal of Koishi along with your icon choices, but more importantly that I hope everything for you gets okay/better soon, even if I can't personally donate anything right now myself. Stay strong, and keep on being awesome! Always know you are loved!

She’s probably a bit too excited about this, but it’s been forever since she’s felt useful or worth anything to anyone. The idea of helping out instead of just having a battle for petty reasons is something you didn’t see in Gensokyo very often. And actually having people realize you’re there, helping them? Even better.

“I can make things disappear! Like, ‘poof’! And you’re gone! That’ll keep monsters off your back, right?”

“Monsters?!”

Koishi is flailing around in the air in panic.

“I don’t have my danmaku back yet! That’s not good!!!”

As if on cue, about three dozen glowing hearts shoot out of her waving hands and proceed to explode into a dazzling lightshow.

Koishi settles herself immediately.

“Oh, wait....five minutes an hour? That’s not a lot at all! But...if I can at least be somewhat helpful, then...I’ll do my best!”

“I think the lady must want to brighten up the city since it’s so gloomy here,” Elise ventured a guess at Koishi’s question. As always, she had an optimistic train of thought. 

“Sunflowers, I like the sound of that! They don’t grow where I’m from, but that must be because the sun rarely shines in Nohr.” Elise picked flowers all the time, but this classic variety that was common to Norville’s world was absent where she lived. She’d like to see these ‘sunflowers’ he talked about one day. “Then it’s decided! We’ll be the Sunflower Hunters!” 

As soon as the words left her mouth the android appeared again, this time bestowing them a beacon kit before vanishing as silently as she’d come.

Elise caught it in her arms, turning the strange object over curiously. Not knowing what a gun was she was holding it at a dangerous angle. “Is this what we use to set the beacons? There’s a glowing map of some kind on it!”

“Oooh, where should we put ‘em?”

Koishi looks up at the sky for a moment before taking a step and then a hop into the air. She floated there, a foot or so off the ground, trying to get a better look.

The city is vast, even if it’s wrecked. Koishi’s never seen anything like it.

“It’s gotta be somewhere good, right? What about around the big hole in the center? Or at the top of a really tall building!”

Koishi is particularly spacey today. It happens every once in a while: a day or a week where she just can’t focus her thoughts, where it hurts to think too long about things that matter. The self-doubt slips in through the cracks in the brain fog. Sometimes, like this, she thinks it’d be better if no one could see her again. People asking her if she’s alright is new to her, and a constant reminder that no, she isn’t, she hasn’t been for awhile.

 She doesn’t know why she’s here--why she bothers doing anything, because it isn’t enough to feel okay again.

Nothing she’s ever done has been enough though, has it? 

“...thank you, though.”

♡ + celebrations

Koishi likes festivals. They’re a fun way to people watch, have tasty food, and the excitement in the air is refreshing to her. It’s a reminder that there are still things to celebrate in the world, even it’s just for a night or two.

When it comes to celebrations centered around her though, Koishi’s uncomfortable with that. Birthdays in particular. When you’re around for as long as a youkai tends to live, birthdays aren’t super important, but the topic comes up now and again. Koishi always refuses to say when she was born. She doesn’t think there’s anything worth celebrating.

It’s much easier to blend into a crowd than sit in the middle and have everyone be nice to you.

♡ + cold weather!

Koishi’s been wandering for a few years (at least) now, so she’s used to dealing with cold weather. She can handle it okay--it’s better than being hot, in her opinion--but winter tends to make her sad. 

It gets dark fast, things are dying, all the humans stay inside...it’s a very lonely season for her.

♡ + favorite music and song!

Koishi, now that she’s in Isola, is more than eager to sample every sort of music genre there is. Thus, her tastes are eclectic. Even if she doesn’t really understand how the music she’s listening to is made, she appreciates the fact that someone took their time to make it.

She particularly enjoys upbeat songs and has a soft spot for piano music. If she had the attention span, she’d probably try to learn to play it herself.

inspiration-wise, i have a bunch of songs that remind me of koishi. a lot of them are from pinocchio-p

After being introduced to bathbombs, Koishi absolutely adores them

her favorite ones are candy scented and flower scented ones, like this one or this

and yes, the first one she encountered one she probably tried to bite into it, just to see what it tasted like.

koishi’s favorite weather is when it’s sunny but the wind is blowing. yknow, those days where the sky’s bright blue and you can see the clouds move by fast, and the grass shake and shudder around? 

it’s comforting to her, i think. there wasn’t anything like windy days down underground.

despite hailing from genosokyo koishi mostly wears western attire due to her sister’s influence. 

she prefers eye-blindingly bright colors and fabrics that are light and comfy due to being hyper sensitive to certain touch sensations! so you’ll usually see her in a nice loose dress/skirt and sleeves with a lot of room in ‘em.
